In reply to "Electromatik", the filter was changed right after that happened so the picture posted is 4 months of everyday use.
The cardboard part of the bag does not cover the entire opening and leaves a couple milimeters each corner for dust to get through.

Could you please elaborate on what bags you say leaked, kirbyloverdan? Were those IntensiveClean, IntensiveClean Plus, HyClean or AirClean bags?

As a current Authorized Miele dealer, I do not have machines coming in that are using genuine bags that leak. Machines using the EnviroCare Technologies bags are a different story, though.

I knew they leaked when.....

Miele came out with the Hyclean Bags. The seal where the bag tube was not tight enough. It was corrected with the Air Clean Bags. My Miele's are spotless inside only using the AirClean Bags. Which in my opinion proves again that Aerus needs to put the rubber gasket back around the bag tube. Aerus are you listening?

piano god

I agree with you. I've used only Hy Clean or Air Clean bags in my Aquarius since new. There is no visible dust in the bag chamber after 6 years. On the other hand, I have an Alto Attix 5 commercial canister that used a 12 gallon paper bag until 2 years ago, when Alto replaced the paper bags with the cloth variety. The paper bag filtered amazingly well, keeping the dust bin relatively clean. The new cloth bags are terrible. They leak alot of dust.
It all lies in the quality of a given material. Seeing what our Australian friend posted inclines me to stay with the Home Solutions paper bags.

Thank you for your response, Dan.

The nine layer AirClean bags have improved greatly over Miele's first three layer IntensiveClean and IntensiveClean Plus bags.

You are

welcome Scott that's good because I always had to wash the machines to remove all the dust that built up in them . Their paper bags never leaked like the intensive clean and intensive clean plus bags .I had a customer made me order her the genuine Miele paper bags because they held dust better .

I'm on the same page as eluxca

My main concerns are filtration first and cost second. As long as the dirt is being captured that's all I care about. Whether it be paper or cloth. A lower cost is pleasant to boot.

Kirbyloverdan: that's a funny switch from the usual routine, switching from cloth to paper. LOL

So, have there been different lots of bags made in China? I hear some "improved" bags leak and some don't. Mine certainly do. I got them late January - when did you all buy your pack of bags?

I cannot figure out why some have trouble and some people do not. The bags that came with my vac leaked, Got new bags and new hepa in February have not had any problems since

Wow Dan 28 acres and a great house. That is awesome.
I have had no leaking problems since my new batch of bags.. On the third new bag now.

Mike

that's great news I am still on my first bag I go between my Guardian upright and my Kirby Sentria II I use all 3 in my home .

Yeah I love having all that land 28 acres and a small home 1000 sqft. is perfect .
Luckily only one acre is clear and that all I have to take care of the rest is untouched woods.

Love my Aerus Guardian Platinum it is the best canister out there in my opinion .

I am absolutely crazy about pre WW II homes. They are really hard to come buy down in Florida. We have a log cabin on a few acres in the north Ga mountains which is very wooded. Love the woods.

Light just came on for the third bag full today. No leakage. A little dirt on the pre filter but absolutely spotless on the carbon side. The after filter is spotless too and that's with a few of the older bags that leaked.

That's great news Aerus always fixes their problems they always have that's why they have existed all these years .

I too love old homes , I could have a Mc Mansion if I wanted to but this home has so much more character it just feels like HOME . It`s cozy small and so easy to keep clean I wouldn't trade it for anything.

There was a bidding war and I was against 3 other buyers it was listed Saturday and purchased by me by Monday . I was willing to pay anything for this home as soon as I pulled up to it the contracts were filled out then I looked at it .
