Hello All,

After going back and forth, and decided to hold out for a year until all the revisions to the Guardian Platinum are worked out.. i.e., power nozzle running with machine turned off... and what ever other little things come up during the first few months of real in home usage...

The Local Dealer made me a deal on a Guardian Ultra that I just could not refuse... The Machine, Extra HEPA Filter, 24 Bags, 24 clean sweep chips, and a Green HPO BrushRoll... I promised him I would never reveal the price, but all I can say is that I spent SLIGHTLY more then I would have spent going to Sears and Buying their top of the line canister at full price... The deal was too good to pass up....

I also wanted the lightest canister that they had to offer, and this was it... If you look you will notice that the most recent version of the Ultra now has the AERUS name on the back of the bumper in silver/grey... not in the middle like the version showed in Dan's set comparing the new to the old...

The dealer was showing me that under the HEPA filter, you can see that they added foam that wraps around the motor casing to make it a little more quiet... And I have to say that it is not all that loud.. Much Better then I expected...

Now a question for Dan - I know you have two of these - I have to assume since I know you purchase all off the high end models, Will the dusting brush from the Renny/guardian/Epic 8000 fit into the handle of this Ultra?
If it does, then I want to order a white Renny/Guardian/Epic 8000 dusting brush as I like the oval/rectangular brush a little better then the round version... Plus I hate that Adapter...
If it does not fit, I know I can buy the Black one from the Tri-Star since the hose and wands are the exact same thing, except in Black..

Here are a few pictures ( no that we do not all know what it looks like !!!)

I took these pictures with my IPhone 4S - Any idea why they all posted sideways -
I loaded them from my 2012 IMAC Desktop Computer -
It this an Apple Issue, Or did I do something wrong ?

I think when you save them to the computer you need to rotate the uploaded picture 90 degrees. This happens with most iphones I think... nice vacuum though!

The strange part is that when I view them in Finder (Apple's version of file explorer) they are correct - It also does not happen with any of the other forums I post to, just this one... Strange...

Just wondering....that Green HPO brushroll, is this brushroll still being produced by Aerus? Or was it New Old Stock that your dealer had? I want to try one of these brushrolls in my Electrolux Grand Marquise's PN6.

Dan ,

Congratulations on your purchase . I love my Ultra at first I wasn`t sure I thought it was a glorified classic but I was soooo wrong . This machine really cleans my first bag I completley forgot about it and when the light finally came on it weighed a ton . It was full and the suction or airflow never diminished .

The dusting brush from the Tri Star will work since the grip is from Tri Star . I use the one from my MG3 and it works fine .

Very smart for waiting on the Platinum I am a little ticked that they are still improving it and should have waited but when I see a new machine I have to have it . I will be buying another Platinum just like I bought the improved Ultra .
I never thought it was a noisey vacuum I bought the first one as soon as it was introduced .

What part of NJ do you live ? I am close to Margate , Ventnor , Longport and AC .
I own a home in Egg Harbor Twp and an Ocean front condo in AC .
I see you like white carpets too it must be a Dan thing as I know 3 other Dans and we all have white carpets nice room .

To Rob -
No - The Green HPO Brushroll has not been made for years - He had one laying in the parts room, and was shocked that I even knew what it was, and that it existed - Hence why he gave it to me...

To Dan -
Thank you for confirming the Tri-Star Brush.. I will have to stop by Aerus tomorrow and see if Tony has an old Guardian Brush around that I can try - I do not think it will fit since it seems the Tri-Star/Ultra/Platinum wands are of a different design then the earlier plastic wands...

Like I said - I did want to get the Platinum, but the Power Nozzle issue bothered me - I usually get a new toy one or twice a year, so I will hang onto this for a year, then get the Platinum in the next 12-months...

I am in South Plainfield - Central Jersey - About Two hours time from my door to the Borgata via the parkway -

I will not even go into the White Rugs... They are still White after 20 years, but I can not tell you how many carpet cleaners I have worn out to keep them that way... That is why we purchased the Rug Doctor - Does a great job for only a little money...

Dan P.

Side Note for Fred - If you get a chance, can you tell me what I did that may have been against the rules as I noticed the Picture #5 was marked as Deleted by Webmaster...

Dan

The Aerus Guardian tools won`t work on the Ultra or Platinum .

I only use the Aerus Floor Pro to keep my White rugs clean it even removed red wine . Plus only using high end vacuums really help keep em clean .

I have to try and wait a bit when a new Vacuum is released instead of buying them as soon as they come out . My sales people have me on speed dial and I usually purchase as soon as I get a call .

Great machine you got Dan as with all the aerus lux products you can't go wrong. What I still love about aerus lux is the occasional service I do need or if I need supplies, they still come to my home..

Just as a note.....

The Lux Guardian Platinum I have came with a much stiffer brush roll than was in the Lux Guardian Ultra. It grooms my carpet much better than the Ultra one. Since the green one is now discontinued and I thought it was because the power nozzle motor could not handle the load....this may be a great replacement in the future.

I have that brush roll in my PN6 which I use on my VacuFlo 766 central vacuum, it grooms my carpet beautifully, nice deep heavy lines in it, I am trying to locate another one for my upstairs power nozzle.

What's so amazing about the green brushroll?

I never saw that before. I've only seen the black chevron brush the Epic 6500SR I used had on it. Is it better than the newer double helix brush? The new double helix has almost double the number of bristles on it compared to the old chevron style. In any case, that vacuum looks far, far better in your pics than I thought it did. I really like it and I might do what you have and buy the Ultra and wait to see how they improve the Platinum. I'm glad they quieted it down some because I did think it was loud when I heard it on Utahprideboy's video. A very high pitched whine I couldn't stand. If it's quieter I could love it.
