IN A PINCH, YOU CAN USE A PIECE OF PANTYHOSE IN PLACE OF THE SCREEN ESPECIALY IF YOU'RE IN A PINCH ALSO KIRBY SUDS USA DON'T GO BAD WE ONCE HAD A BOTTLE COME IN THAT WAS 25 YEARS OLD THAT WAS STILL USEABLE

and im not the only one but if you want a wet carpet smelling like an old dog go ahead ohh yes and when it does eventually dry it leaves a sticky residue that in no time at all attracts more dirt.If you really must use this contraption the best way to use it is to use it as per instructions then go over the carpet with a three in one machine with just clean water in it that way it will remove all the detergent and all the dirt that has been left behind by the kirby .Try it and see what i mean

Anthony, Anthony, Anthony I am a convert from a Bissell Proheat. Still have it, might still use it, but not having wet rugs when I'm done is a big plus. Having power drive on the Kirby is fun in it self.
