Hello,
I saw a free dirt devil broom vac from the 90's for free on Facebook marketplace. So I decided to pick it up. I haven't gone to get it yet, but I had a few questions. The first issue is it has no charger. I'm Hoping there's a generic one in my bin of random cords that will fit. The second issue is that I don't know if it even works. Does anyone know if this model has batteries that are easily replaceable?
Thanks
-Jack
(here's a pic for reference, I believe this one's a bv200)

These all used Ni-Cad and they are surely dead. NiCad batteries must be maintained monthly with charge an discharge cycles to stay good. Once they are left to sit, the cell plates crystallize an corrode an the pack is destroyed. I would presume based on the size constraints an age of the Broom Vac that it woul likely use a molex pack battery like an old cordless phone. Could get lucky and find a new pack or restomod another one to fit, assuming you dont blow out the charging circuit. Could have the old pack rebuilt with new cells at a Batteries Plus+ store. Also could retrofit it to NiMh or lithium possibly. To my knowledge absolutely nobody has ever repaired one, so theres no info at all.

I know from having the first Dustbuster models that they use several welded NiCad cells like a power tool battery is assembled, wrapped in a shrinkwrap band.
