That is a beautiful 28, and the original bag makes it even more beautiful! It always has been one of my favorite Hoovers. One of my Aunts had one when I was a kid, and our church had one as well. By the time I started helping with the church cleaning when I was a teenager, they also had a Clarke commercial canister, but I usually grabbed the 28! And the one from the church happens to be the 28 in my collection! Tom Anderson refurbished it for me about 14 or 15 years ago and set me up with cleaning tools for it as well. Thanks again Tom!

The Hoover 28 will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the FIRST vintage vacuum in my collection. I got it at a yard sale in 1989 for $8.00. It had the original bag (which I later replaced because it had holes by the two mounting bolts - I put on a matching Dust Care cloth bag) and the celluloid headlight lens. A beautiful machine for sure. Mine has the bakelite hood, but I think some 28's had a metal hood IIRC. Or am I thinking of the model 27?
