Electrolux CB

Hi, Lee--I like that Lux CB, I've got about 4 or 5 of those dudes! If you should ever need help or tips working on those let me know and I'll e-mail you instructions on how to work on those. They are really powerful machines!

Doesn't the CB have the same motor as the 1205? I always assumed they were not all that powerful because of the motor size, and because of the large cloth bag and longer hose.

Hi, Charles-The Early CB's have a 1205 motor. Most of the ones that I have, all have Super-J style motors in them, they have the same armature and brushes that Super-J's have, the ones with the bigger motors really have lots of power! I have about 4 or 5 of the 1205 colored top CB's, and they all have the Super-J motor in them, I also have a CB 2000, the Grey Plastic one, it has a Silverado-Style motor in it.

If the teal model CBs had a "Super J" motor that means that the Super J was not the first to use it--is that correct? Or does it mean that the teal CBs continued being made through much of the Super J run? The 1973 1205 and 1976 Super J instruction manuals have the same CB photo which appears to be the original, shorter motor housing instead of the later taller motor housing.

Someone posted a photo of a gold CB with a white exhaust cover, so I know the teal color was discontinued at some point during the Super J era; but I've always taken for granted that it was at least in 1976.
