Kenny,
You're right about the rarity of vacuum collections.
It is true, too, about "de-personalizing" a home. Family photos, stuffed hunted animas, guns, etc are usually removed. They USED to say, an empty house was a good idea. Then, seeing how a bed, baby grand piano, roll top desk, etc fit in a home are good as well. Some buyers try to imagine a Christmas tree in the house, too. In general, Fred, you've done everything right. A fresh, non-trendy or dated paint job, no clutter, immaculate home is the impression you want, and, you've made. We were told it should look and smell good. No candles, etc. but a nice clean smell. We were told , years ago, to have the house smell like cookies. So, one day, I made cookies. The place smelled great. Viewers were hungry! Some put fresh flowers on the table. Then, somebody could be allergic. You just can't win.
I "prepped" my aunt's house in Ireland, when I was over there for a wedding. She sold her home just after I left for the States.Fred knows, and those REALTORS know that the house will move.. to the right buyer.
I'd personally get a kick out of seeing a vac collection. But, it's true, it will be remebered. Imagine the new owners saying, "There used to be cleaners in this room, as well as a switchboard". Mine had a Wurlitzer jukebox and a suiy of armour until just recently. Believe me, people 'talked about it'.
