Lots of vintage Kirby parts

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

UPDATE!

The following have sold:
Two Tradition parts units
Last Classic III parts unit
The nice restorable almost-complete Omega with bag

I still have many more parts units shown in post 36 -
4 Omegas, 2 Traditions, 2 Heritage IIs, 1 Heritage, 1 toggle 5xx, and 10 Classic 1CRs.

I still have the following very nice working complete vacs shown in post 43 -
1 Heritage, 1 Heritage II set with attachments and shampooer, and 1 Classic 1CR.

Still have lots of parts as shown in post 36.

THANK YOU AGAIN to those who have adopted one or some! It is nice to start seeing my patio furniture again.. :o)

I still have the below parts units shown in post 36. See pictures there to see what is included. All were electrically tested and current draws verified. No cords or bags.
4 Omegas
2 Traditions
2 Heritage IIs
1 Heritage
1 toggle 5xx
10 Classic 1CRs.

I still have the following very nice working complete vacs shown in post 43 -
1 Heritage
1 Heritage II set with attachments and shampooer
1 Classic 1CR.

I have one complete shampooer set for the Classic 1CR. Box is not pretty but contents looked to not have been used.

Still have lots of parts as shown in post 36.

The parts units MUST be gone on March 1st in preparation for an automotive resto project. I will need that space for a work area and there is nowhere else these parts units can go (other than the scrap bin).
Therefore these parts units are cheap - only $5-10 each based on buying one and based on condition. The more you buy the better deal you will get! If you are local, the deal will be even better.

I am hoping some more collectors and enthusiasts can save a few more of these during the next few weeks. :o)
Thanks in advance,
-Rob

Good Luck, Rob!

Rob,

I continue wishing you the best of luck in getting your excess inventory sold reasonably.

But... I also want to ask you this: would you happen to have any 162479 flat washers for the Kirby Tradition's headlight lock button (162079)?

~Ben

Ben,
I do not have any of those exact washers. I am willing to bet they are standard off-the-shelf varieties, so if we can get the measurements on one, we can source an exact replacement.

Yes, I do hope these will all end up in good hands very soon; most are too good to scrap.

The best-looking of the Omegas has been traded for some G5 attachments; I still have everything else listed in reply 60.

I will be posting to craigslist soon so if anyone here wants anything I have, please let me know soon. Most everyone on this site are either enthusiasts or collectors, so I would rather these go to your hands if needed or wanted.

I would consider a good or better G5 vacuum in trade as well. I do not need it but it IS my favorite color (will be the last for my collection)....

The end is near...

UPDATE - All Heritage II units have been sold and picked up.

I still have the below parts units for sale (pictured in post 36 of this thread). See those pictures to see what is included. All electrically tested and current draws verified. No cords or bags but all have handles & other parts. $5 each without emtor, 10 with emtor. Buy more, get a much better deal! Actual shipping costs apply. Those who are LOCAL and can pick up will get a MUCH better deal as I will not have to source materials, pack, and ship.

Parts units:
3 Omegas
2 Traditions
1 Heritage I
1 toggle 5xx
8 Classic 1CRs
3 more Classic 1CRs that are missing some minor parts (working motors are there and intact) (these are free - just pay shipping).

I still have the following very nice working COMPLETE vacs shown in post 43, suitable for easy restorations -
1 Heritage I (includes Kirby fill tube adapter for using G-series bags) $30
1 Classic 1CR. $25

One complete shampooer set for the Classic 1CR. Box is not pretty but contents looked to not have been used. $5
One complete Heritage II shampooer set - box is 'average'. $5

Still have lots of loose parts as shown in post 36.
Buy a bundle and I will make you a great deal.

I can only keep the parts units for another couple weeks at most as I need my patio space back for spring projects. After March 5th or so, I must sadly scrap/trash what is left. Given the low price of scrap metal, micro-scrapping may not even be worth my time.
Let's give some more of these another chance at life or help repair other Kirbys!
Thanks in advance,
Rob

LOCAL PICKUP DEAL - $20 ALL YOU CAN HAUL!

GRAB A FEW OR TAKE 'EM ALL!! For just the cost of a cheap, lousy lunch for two...
(Parts units and parts only, complete machines not included).

These would be great for someone to either sell as-is or part out and sell online; I do not have the space or the time to do so.
Below are what I have. No bags or cords, most with no emtors. They are only a week or so away from being discarded.

3 Omegas - okay condition. They are quite dirty but should clean and shine up well.

2 Traditions - very good condition. These pretty clean and will restore easily.

4 Classic 1CRs - good condition. They are dirty but should clean and shine up well. Only two have emtors.

2 Classic 1CRs - fair condition. They are dirty and scratched up but still could be usable as vacuums

5 Classic 1CRs - parts only. These are missing minor parts, castings are very scratched, but working motors are intact.

1 Heritage I - good condition. This would restore easily.

1 toggle 5xx - good condition. Dirty but should clean and polish up well.

1 Classic 1CR shampooer set.

I also have various extra handles and the parts as shown in post 36.

E-Mail Sent

Rob,

I left you another e-mail about whether or not you may have one of the following:

114969 - armature for 1CR Classic
119269 - motor vent seal for 1CR Classic
143176 - air adjusting plate for 2CB Classic III nozzle

Thank you,

Ben

Ben,
I can help you with a good Classic motor for sure - just pay shipping. You will get as much of the machine as you would like (18lbs) or the minimum as shown below (7lbs). They have been tested and current draws verified. Reason for keeping the motors complete is that I can guarantee you will have a working motor as there were all tested complete.

NONE of the original foam insulators I have come across are usable - everyone I touch turns to powder if still there at all. These seem to be what makes the biggest messes inside the motors, also. I can get you the backer plates but no foams. The new foam insulators are available online for $6-8 each.

The suction relief plates I have but only in Classic brown. I no longer have any red Classic III stuff - that is what I had sold out of first. I never thought cherry-red vacuums would be appealing but they are - I really like mine!
I do not have the white or clear ones either.

PayPal Payment Sent

Hi Rob,

I decided to take the Classic 1CR motor housing casting from you for $22 (to cover shipping), and I sent you a PayPal payment. I dropped you an e-mail recently, please let me know if you get it.

Thank you,

Ben

Hi Ben,
Got your email, I do have a motor for you, but I do not have pay pal. I sent you a message with alternate payment options.
Thanks!

Doomsday for these is four days away...

Two Traditions and four Classic 1CRs that are all easy restorers (just add cord and bag assys), and one 1CR like-new shampooer set in ratty looking box. All working.
Still have some castings and salvage 1CR units but those are less important.

ALL IS FREE to a local collector/re-seller/dealer or just pay shipping. Fedex is still open and I can take it.
For local pickup I can have it out it on the walk close to the house if I know you are coming, so there will not have to be any socializing. Just load and go.
Friday evening it all goes to the curb.

IF you email me please leave a phone number. Yahoo seemed to have killed my ability to send emails. I can read mails. Apparently 20 years with them was long enough...
