"what is unique about the Classic motor? I've got three and was just curious, thanks."
Wow, got my question answered ten fold, thank you for having this exchange, I'm learning a lot from you guys. If my classic 1cr's have a two speed switch are the motors still considered one speed by design with different wiring for switch? That's where I'm scratching my head a bit. Thanks, I know you're busy. Billy

Speed

The motor or armature has little to do with the speed. It's the Field coil sets the speed. Kirby since D's 50 are all 2 speed with a 2 speed coil. If you know what you are doing you could put a royal single speed coil. I believe amebush lamb makes motors and coils for both companies.
If you stick with Kirby parts you can wire a vacuum to be low speed. You simply cap 2speed wires and don't run wires to safety switch.

2011hoover700,
Yes, I do have a power switch, button and bracket for a 1CR, as well as a good headlight hood with original trim. One of the units that I pulled parts off and am scrapping had a nice hood on it, so I will pull it to send to you. Metal should polish nicely. I will include the rod and spring also.
Please let me know if you need anything else. You may send me an email message when you are ready to 'checkout'. :o)

Ben,
I did get your email and will reply.

The Plano shop still has many more parts units - about another 6 Traditions (no top locks), 6 Classic III, 3-4 Omegas, 2 Classics, 12 Heritage and 12 Heritage IIs. After this Saturday, they might be on their way to becoming beer cans...

Thanks!
-Rob

2011hoover700,
I pulled a headlight hood and found a couple pieces of trim for you also. Please send me an email (in my profile) and I will send you a high-res picture of everything I found. I polished the headlight cap up a little just to make sure it would, and it is looking nice.
Thanks!

jrdavis,
I can ship you a 1CR motor unit for cheap. Please email me (in my profile) your zip code so I can calculate what shipping will be (shipping is the most expensive part). If you do not need the handle, it will be cheaper to ship - let me know if you need it.
Also let me know what parts you need from the unit. All of these units are all in various states of cosmetic imperfection. :o) If you plan to restore it or need the castings or certain items, I will search for the best looking unit. ALL of them however have complete working motors with correct current draw.
Thanks!

Bought another smaller lot!

The following parts are available as well as most of the ones listed earlier.
Let me know if you need any of these - they will be very cheap.

Handle parts for 5xx - D80 machines
Switch housings, toggles, buttons, brush caps, used brush roll screws, and safety switch parts for 5xx machines
Shag King rake for Omega
NOS rear housing shell for 1CR (has one scratch on top) (Asking $20 for this one due its condition and rarity - this is for a show machine!
Two Omega manuals with dates of 1975 in the back.

Also (not pictured) 2 more Omega parts units and 2 more Classic III parts units.

Keep in mind, shipping is the most expensive. Get all you can in one order for the best deal.

Hey

Do any of the small handle pins have a copper or gold colored circle in center of the pin opposite side from the handle?.
Les

Kelton, that shell is for a Classic 1CR, not Omega. Do you still want me to save it for you? I bought the Legend II hose and attachments, too.

Les, none of the pins in the bin have that circle (I take it was on the small end that you are referring to)

I got probably my last load today - will post what I got when I get time.

I would like to give a great shout-out and THANK YOU to all of those who have bought some stuff. I enjoy seeing this stuff going to good homes where it will be used as-is or used to keep other old Kirbys alive.
I really hope to have my patio space back by March, so keep 'em coming, please! :o)

I need to begin the new year by getting the patio cleaned up...

I am picturing below all the PARTS and PARTS UNITS I have left that needs new homes very soon. All parts units have been electrically tested and current draws confirmed good. Most are good for restoration but some as parts only. All will be cheap - the more you buy the better the deal. Please send me an email (in my profile) with your wishlist and zip code and I will give you cost with shipping. Those in the DFW area may come pick up for less. Crazy, lets just say the absolute best/most complete parts unit I have is $20, the rest are less. And the more you buy the less they get. My goal is not making money but just covering fuel cost and materials and time to pack 'em and ship 'em while helping collectors and keeping them out of the landfill. I am willing to work with anyone with any budget, so any offers will be considered.

UPDATE - Two Omega parts units and the brown-trimmed 5xx with bag are pending sale now.
