This weekend Kyle and I are having our yearly get to together and it is going great! We had some amazing luck today. We went to a flea market and did a whole bunch of thrifting this morning, and this is what we have got so far.

Here is some of what I've gotten so far. I got the Dyson from a vacuum store for $20. It was only clogged and it works really well. The gray Oreck came from Goodwill for $7.50. It was in sad condition but turned out like brand new! The red Oreck came from the flea market. We saw the handle and decided to take a look and the guy said he was looking to get rid of everything for cheap. So we tried it out and offered him $20 and he quickly accepted! This would probably have to be my favorite Oreck, I just love the red! It is also in like new condition! The Sanitaire came from another Goodwill for $3.75. It was in extremely bad condition but turned out really nice! I'll probably end up using that quite a bit. I also got the Kenmore from another Goodwill for $10. It works great, just needs a good cleaning!

Oh..my turn? Okay..

Well so far it has indeed been a great time! We have gotten some great vacuums. At the Flea Market that Chase and i drove to there is a guy there that has a mini vac shop set up where he sells tons of refurbished machines. He knows us by name now, so he usually gives us good deals. There is always something to be had there. This year i luckily found a very very nice Dirt Devil MVP. I don't have a really good working one, so that was a treat! It is hard to find these in nice, usable condition. The other machine i bought from him is a Dirt Devil Swivel Glide. I thought it looked cool. It pushes nicely and is as aggressive as all heck, so i think that might end up as my new daily driver when i return home. It too is like brand new! I got these for $20 a pop.

This Hoover.

I was not going to buy it because it looked like it was only the canister and the hose, but Chase looked closer and there was a bag containing a power nozzle, bags, owners manual, and all the attachments. I do not believe the power nozzle was used much, if ever! I will post a picture of the brushroll and bottom because it is literally like new! I ended up getting this for $5. Great deal, just needs to be cleaned up.

Yup

It was in the junk pile, and they didn't even know they had a perfectly working Dyson.
They called the trade in pile "The Wall of Shame Vacuums"

Terrific finds. What kind of flea markets do you have over there? The only flea markets I see are mostly weavings, some shirts with the a press, and pottery. I would love a vacuum flea market!

I picked up a Hoover Celebrity (QS) a while back, in the same condition as that Hoover, everything but the floor brush and its 2 wands was is 2 shopping bags: the hose, dusting brush, upholstery tool, crevice tool, power nozzle and 2 chrome wands. It cleaned up like new as well.

More Flea Market Stuff...

Today we went to another local flea market and got some pretty nice things. Firstly, a very nice Kenmore Twin Fan Self Propelled. It's pretty dry, but all in out it sounds really good. It still has an original sticker on the bag as well.

This is a bad picture so I will post a better on later, but this was just way to nice to leave behind. I don't think this was ever even used honestly. It had no smells, no rips in the cord or bag, and absolutely nothing wrapped around the brushroll. I have been wanting a Halo ever since they first came out, and we got this one for only $60. I was happy it was the Oreck model because I like the blue trim. It surprisingly had all of the attachments, as well as a brand new HEPA bag. I thought it was also neat how it has a height adjustment on the side. It's a pretty decent vacuum, I might sell it though.

Now this was the find of the day I think, as well as what Kyle will post in a while. There is a guy at the flea market that always has NIB Sears products. I have never bought anything from him, but have always eyed what he has had at his tent. This time, I decided to go ahead and get this brand new in the box Kenmore canister for $85. It was completely sealed and had never been used. These sold brand new at Sears just a few weeks ago for $199! This is a really great vacuum. It is very compact and has a nice, long hose. The power nozzle is also very aggressive.

Sears Guy at the Flea Market

..I too bought something from the guy. I assume he can sell these products so cheaply because he buys everything in bulk and buys in closeout or wholesale prices. Anywho, i bought this Kenmore Intuition Bagless Multicyclonic upright. I like it a lot, and have never had a vacuum that gets out so much grit. This thing has tons of suction and the direct drive is a lot of fun. Overall, Brand new for $85 on a $399 machine wasn't bad. I am quite happy. I was using a DC17 as my daily driver for the longest time because it was simple to use, and i didn't have to empty a bag. I ended up giving that to Chase late last year, so i have been without a very decent bagless machine for sometime (Not using a DC07!) so this will pick up where the DC17 left off as my daily machine. Should be great.

Wow

You guys had some great finds! And some good deals! You both are lucky that you have basements to store all that!

I really like those direct drive machines.

Wish thrifting was that good here!

Scott
