Everytime I remember using a Fold Away it always had a more TTI sounding motor, even when they were made under Maytag. Ive however come across TWO different videos of Fold Aways that actually have the Maytag motor (and honestly I feel it fits better). My question is, were some Fold Aways actually sold with the Windtunnel motor, or was it some type of Vacuum Store fixup?

I think the Fold Aways originally used the classic motor but this was also around the time when Maytag really struggled so I'm sure they had to cut cost and started using Ametek motors.

Honestly making it a windtunnel variant originally makes sense. All the bypass machines of the time by Hoover practically were (not to mention it practically looks ALMOST IDENTICAL to those Widepath bagless units). Maybe though, they were struggling early on as well because even the very first Fold Away I had had the Ametek sounding motor. The Aqua one. But, the Fold Away was one of the last main hurrahs of the Maytag line so it really wouldnt surprise me if the Maytag motor was the designated plan originally.
