I noticed the outside of the vacuum is very dusty when done. I currently use the white hepa bags thinking they are better. How is this vacuum for allergies and asthma?
bagless upright in the late 90s, it would always be dusty all over the outside of the vacuum when done cleaning. I hated that. I don't think this sounds normal for a Kirby though, especially if they have a hepa bag. Are Kirby's sealed? I don't know. I've never owned one but I've used one a long time ago.
I have checked fill hose and washed the bag in cold water several times with whisk detergent. Just wondering how the ultimate g is Co. Pared to newer hepa vacuums. I would be willing to take less suction for cleaner air.
have hepa bags and are sealed, there should be no dust. True, vacuum exhaust can stir up dust if your house is dusty, but you should eventually get all that dust with a vacuum with good emissions. For anyone who reads this, Kirby's are sealed systems, right?
Has anyone taken the vacuum apart recently? Mine leaked dust because there wasn't any silicone where the fan chamber was. There is also a rubber seal on the emptor that I would check if it still there or in good condition.
That motor is turning very, very fast and will overheat in a short amount of time.
I will say that my UG is a much bigger blow hard than my other Kirbys. I don't know if they positioned the cooling exhaust differently, or it blows harder, but I do notice things being blown to the left, such as dog fluff and such, as I vacuum with it.
If your Kirby Diamond is leaking dust, the biggest culprit is that someone forgot to add silicone sealant all around the fancase the last time the fan was replaced or if the fancase was opened for any other reason . Also make sure you are using the best Kirby cloth HEPA bags. Cheaper bags WILL leak dust.
NEVER BLOCK THE MOTOR COOLING VENTS for any reason or any amount of time. The motor will overheat very quickly and a burnt out motor is a very expensive repair.
Another thing---how is the gasket that goes between the fancase discharge opening on the bag coupling? If this leaks will cause the machine to have the fine dust on it.Esp around the fan discharge. Is the Emptor coupling all the way on the fan discharge opening?
