So, here is what lead me here. Was using a old Bissell bag less vacuum. Did OK vacuuming, but cleaning the canister and filter where a pain. So, past time for a new vacuum. My research began. After combing through forums and YouTube videos, I found out that kirby vacuum can be repaired and maintained for decades and is a higher performance vacuum. My parents had a kirby clasic III when I was growing up. So that sounded good. I ended up getting a Kirby G7 Ultimate Diamond because it stood out as more versatile than any other model. Continuing to read here to learn more. A thank you to the various members whose posts helped guide my decision.

The only 2 Speed Kirby ever made. Well technically they all are... Only when you plug in the hose. From the G-3 onward. Any technical assistance let me know. New here myself.

Sure. Thank you. So far, polished. Decent but not great. Cleaned, bag laundered. New belt lift hook (old one had rust on it), new fan. Checked motor brushes, they where almost new.
Then new bracket cam assembly. Wasn't fully disengaging transmission when in neutral. After new bracket installed, while still off vacuum, wheels turned smoothly with no noise. When installed back on kirby, now notice a clicking when moving in neutral. Suspect it was clicking before, but the noise of the transmission was hiding it. On another post discussion they told the person that there wasn't a part you could replace to fix the clicking, so guessing I shouldn't worry about it

I guess I should add i installed a new vacuum belt, and the brush roller is still good on the first setting.

My Sentria 2 clicks in neutral also. It’s pretty much a Kirby thing that can’t be fixed without a new transmission. That cam bracket/assembly is a good move. Just remember not to ever remove the Phillips screw on the bottom of the transmission. And Bty everything else you did is pretty much a full Restoration . Good work!
