Kirby Printing Block?

Print Blocks

I have several of them, which are actually called engravings, electrotypes, or simply cuts. Here are some " prints of them that I made, called "rough proofs," because I simply inked them and made the print on a proof press without proper makeready, which would have produced a better print.
Interesting too, that until I proofed the Hoover cuts shown here, they most likely hadn't seen ink since 1929! Also, since I am both a vacuum cleaner collector and a hobby printer (and was employed in the Printing Industry for many years as well), these cuts actually serve to tie the two hobbies together!

Thanks Gottahavehoove, I thought it might be from the 50s due to the style of the kirby logo. Even if it is not from the 50s, you are correct, it is definitely old.

hygiene903: Those are wonderful. Can't believe a electrolux was only 11.95 with attachments.

I have just started to branch out into things related to Kirby but which are not the machine itself of attachments for the vacuums. I hope I can find more unique items like this one.

Ed,

Keep in mind the Lux in the ad was a rebuild, and the ad was probably from the 40's or 50's. There was also a place to insert the name of the vac store offering this promotion, and I'm thinking that the rebuild company (probably Metropolitan) probably included the ad cut when the vac shops ordered a certain number of units.
You probably also noticed a GE and a Kirby, think it's either a Classic, Omega, or Classic III. Glad you enjoyed them!
