Growing up, my grandfather had a Heritage II and I remember loving that machine. I could barely push it but there was something about it that was so appealing. My love of vacuums started with the Heritage. Shame, a piece of plastic on the side of the brush roll broke so he put the Kirby out to pasture. I think now it would have been so easy to take and get fixed but there weren't any vacuum stores around at that point. It was in such good condition, hopefully someone picked it up and gave it a good home. I ran into one at an antique shop. They wanted $60 for it but it was in pretty poor condition and I don't know the first thing about working on vacuums. I'd love to get one just for the sentiment.

BTW: The current Kirby hose is very cheap feeling to me. I know they are nearly destruction proof but I really liked the hose on the Heritage. It was very similar to what Rainbow used in the early nineties. There is just something luxurious about that hose compared to the current hoses.
