Hi there. I found a kirby heritage. Very happy with it, because it is so complete, en rare in Europe. The first good sold kirby is the dark red legend. Though I think I am still missing e few things. I know there not that special in the usa anybody that can help me .

Hi Edgar

Nice Kirby, but I wonder if this was from a Kirby dealer. Why? because one attachment is not standard, and in fact should NOT be there. The round, glass covered part is a 'dirt meter,' and used instead of the bag by the salesman to show what the vacuum cleaner will pick up. The white test cloth (in place) was for household dirt, a black one was used for the mattress test. Needless to say, you have a great find. The only part that's not there is the Rug Renovator, a carpet shampooer attachment, but that can easily be acquired either from members of Vacuum Land, or ordered from the Kirby company.

As for the dirt meter, enjoy the bonus tool, but the only thing it will do is show what you vacuum up.

Enjoy your Kirby. [this post was last edited: 12/11/2014-18:20]

Heritage

Looks very nice and is one of the best of the newer Kirbys. As above you have the demo unit that would only be for dealer/salesman.Your Kirby does have what looks to be the complete renovator/shampooer in the larger box on left.Missing are a few suction attachments and attachment box as well as Handibutler box and misc parts. The air turbine upholstery/stair tool was labeled for Kirby from another company and was also seen on many central vac systems here. The hair cutter IS special in US or any other country!Enjoy!

Didn't see inside the Renovator box!

At my age the memory is going, I used to demo the Heritage, but forgot the packaging.

Yes, the renovator IS there, I forgot that the Miracle head, and Renovator brush were interchangable, I also see the suds despenser in the box but hidden by the Kirby. What I don't see is the attachment box called the 'tool kit,' where the standard tools were stored. But you have many of these in use. I also see the Handi-Butler on the floor, but no flexible shaft or tools like sanding disc, however, I do see the Turbo sander, hair clippers, and so on, so perhaps other than a few attachments, it may indeed be complete.

Since you have the instruction books, perhaps you can do a parts photo as depicted in the main instruction book.

As I said, you have a great find, and whatever tools you don't have, can be easily acquired.

thanxxx

thanks for the tips. i will read te manual Ben, and find out what i am missing. short search on ebay told me it is easy to find parts for it.

a lot of screaming noise

So i plugged it in today for the first time. it makes a high screaming noise, not at all the low sound my legend makes. So i guess i have to open it up. what could it be? maybe the fan?
