For those of you who know Kirby brush rolls well, is it true that the ball-bearing brush rolls Kirby makes (for its pre-1990 products) do not have plastic thread guards on the black cap end of the roll, but rather a metallic-looking thread guard (or none at all)???
The following part numbers would apply:
1562 - for models 513 to Dual Sanitronic 80
156275 - for models Classic to Tradition
156281 - for models Heritage and Heritage II (Heritage II at serial no. X8602XXXXX or lower)
156287/156288 - for models Heritage II, Heritage II Legend and Legend II (original Heritage II at serial no. X8603XXXXX or higher)
The 1525XX series (for pre-1990 applications) equivalents (1525, 152575, 152581 and 152585), as well as the 500505 13" double bristle roll (used on the ComVac CV1300 and the Heritage/Legend series with a 13" nozzle), would still have had the sleeve bearings until sometime early in the first decade of the 21st century.
