@euekaprince, regarding LIGHTER FLUID...
Your response reminded me of a "reprimand" that I got from Heloise - yes, THE Heloise - about four years ago....
I was on on her web-site, trying to pick up some hints, as you do, and someone had posted a question regarding those "bumper marks" on the plastic/vinyl strips that people put over their dust boards/baseboards at the bottom of the wall.
I suggested using carburetor cleaner - it comes in a spray can from the auto parts store. I first tried it when I had someone leave a mark on my car in a parking lot. Fairly much like WD-40, but it takes less scrubbing action....
ANYWAY - Heloise didn't like my response....using carboretor cleaner inside is bad for you....and she stated that, contrary to my opinion, IT SHOULD NEVER BE USED INSIDE THE HOME. Well, I DID get what she was saying, but, then, again, my baseboards ARE clean and stain free.
In fact, whilst I was REBUKED by Heloise, I will tell you this - when I have come up against a stubborn "skid-mark" on a vacuum that I have picked up, I still use carburetor cleaner and the stains seem to come right off brilliantly.
(Of course, because I know Heloise was interested ONLY in my safety, I TRY to do that outside...)
But, do try it...it's cheap, and it does the trick!
