Kenmore Magicord canister

I've been trying to catch up on odds and ends projects and decided to pull out my Sears Best canister and see if I could get it ready for service. It's quite clean for its age, but it needs new brush strips. The parts are listed as NLA on sears' website. Any ideas for a substitution? Just a random thought, but the offset suction duct is an interesting design for a power nozzle.

Kenmore to adore-

-looks great and would have been one of the last of that style.I may have better used brush and do have many 60s Sears but will take much sorting on longer,warmer days of spring.When found they do need new homes!Anyone?

Nice canister there! I am looking for that same model, but in green, or the later model in green and yellow with woodgrain top and attachment caddy.
