I remember seeing the Kenmore Cleanmore canister shampooers in the Sears catalog. I my 1991 catalog there is a red and black Heavy Duty version and an all black Cleanmore model.

I was wondering when these machines were discontinued. I saw one at a local thrift store that is light gray with red/orange trim. It had the Spray Mate attachment, but no other attachments were with it. I assumed that was made later than the ones I mentioned above.

If I had to guess, I would say 1993 was the last year for them, as they were made by Ryobi, which also made the Twin Fan uprights, and they were done away with in 1993.

BTW, here is the manual for this machine, I found it interesting to read. It appears to be dated 1992 and 1993.

I learned these take 20-5086 bags, which are no longer available from Sears, and Hesco and no aftermarket bags are available.

I have the heavy duty model, and one that is white with red trim, but I converted that one to a shop vac because it was very incomplete.

I have the red and black Heavy Duty model. When I got it about 6 years ago (from a family friend) it had everything that it came with new and it worked great. It really did a great job removing set in stains from carpeting, especially with the Spray Mate. Unfortunately over the years most of the attachments have gone missing and all of the lines and connections squirt solution all over the place when the pump is on. It definitely is a powerful machine though! I'd love to get my hands on a complete, good condition one.
