Were those Kenmore "kart" vacs able to sit safely on stairs? Just curious....love the whole concept!

no

they were good in theory,but not so good in a small house,looks like it would be,but really isn't. I use mine a lot,and it is nice to have everything with you,but it can also be awkward in tight spaces.
