Is this a Kirby Fan or to what?

The fan looks like the one that is in my Kirby C (or 1C as some people call it)

The shaft will be smaller than later Kirbys because the armature is much smaller in the early Kirbys.

Well this is interesting. I found this on a site called Vacuumland and it just kind of struck me that there was something familiar about it.
I am referring Thread No. 8326 from 3/1/2010 and Post No. 92548, of the same date, by Barry Banister.
All this on that Vacuumland site, how odd.
Now what do they say about being struck by Lightning?

That is early 2c 3c or 4c Kirby with your fan. Rvstng from Colorado springs has such a model. I believe he may be interested in the fan if he doesn't already have one.
Glad to see you figured it out. I could tell it wasn't a fan I have worked with.
I don't know the value of the fan but to someone needing it could be worth some.

Well I can not imagine anyone needing the fan as I think anyone that owns a 75 year old Kirby would either have had it replaced along time ago or just not need one.

Yeah but in another 10 or 20 years, somebody's gonna really need that to restore their old Kirby...

Isn't the Kirby in the picture above a model R? I see a cord coming out of the handle. I know this shouldn't make a difference regarding fans, but hey, nice vacuum!

Yes that is an R1 Kirby, the cord comes out of the handle and plugs in on the side underneath.
