I'm still on the first pumpkin spice melt

LOL! I got this days ago......I literally can turn it on for a couple of hours per day, and I smell it all day! Even when it's OFF the next day, before turning it back on" I still can smell it.

I got mine today. Just turned it on. So far nothing negative except the orange scent is not what I thought it would be. I bought some Yankee Candle tarts when I went to the mall this week and will try one in it tomorrow.

Ryan -

the Pumpkin isn't what I thought it would be either....PLEASE let me know if the Yankee candle melts work in this because someone said they don't work in some warmers, but I'm sure they will

thanks

The Yankee Candle tarts work. It does take longer to melt, but that's expected since it is more wax. The scent is soo much better than what came with it.

They are also $1.99 in store. To me all there scents are great. Especially their Fall (expect Halloween scents) and Winter scents. It all depends what your preference is. I got 3 Christmas scents and 1 called November Rain which is what I'm using now and it smells amazing. I do recommend going in the store just to smell them to get an idea. Then you could by online.

So I went ahead and bought these scents

from Yankee Candle

-Lush Berries
-Blueberry Scone
-Eucalyptus
-Lavender Vanilla
-Magical Frosted Forest
@ $1.99/ea , they are expensive. Hopefully they act like these and I can get by with one melt for a week or more, because I don't keep the warmer on constantly. All the scents I chose got great reviews except Eucalyptus was mixed; some said it was weak. I'm wondering since I have Eucalyptus essential oil if I could add a few drops to the tart while it's in the warmer? I mean, I'm sure the oils they use in these tars are partly essential oils anyway, wouldn't you think?

Those sound like winners to me! I'm sure you could. I have some essential oil for my Rainbow. I'll have to try that as well and see how it works.

If you find the Yankee tarts work for you, you don't have to use the whole tart at once... I can use 1/2 of one and the scent is good. They break/crumble easily, and I crumble them rather than just dropping in a chunk. Cranberry Chutney, Pink Sands, Midsummer's Night, and Chocolate Layer Cake are also good. Scentsy are $5 for a package of 8 cubes, but totally worth it, some of their scents blow Yankee out of the water!

Yea

looking at the picture, the tart itself looks bigger than the "hearts" that came with the warmer I bought. So I was thinking the same thing, almost like one Yankee tart would equal 3 hearts? I dunno. But this FIRST heart is still working. I have it on now and it's just as strong now as the day I got it. I don't leave it on too long at a time. Maybe 2 hrs. I noticed you can buy warmers almost anywhere, but looking at the prices, for what I got for 2 of them and the 2 pack of scents wasn't really a bad deal. But if I had to do it over, I could have just gotten ONE warmer and some scents from wherever. Are the Scentsy cubes smaller than the tart? You said $5 for package of 8 cubes. That doesn't sound expensive. The Yankee tarts are 1.99/ea, unless the cubes are a lot smaller.

Yes the Scentsy cubes are smaller than Yankee tarts, but I've found it's not the size but the level of scent in the wax, and they are loaded! The cubes are about an inch or so, but I only ever use one at a time. Scentsy wax is soy wax, so it melts easier, and you can just wash the warmer out with soapy water. I've been told they are non toxic which is helpful if you have curious pets. Not sure about Yankee or Walmart ones. I can easily use one cube of almost any brand for a good full day without losing scent, but after that it seems to start fading. I have a small plug mounted warmer that we use as a night light in the bathroom, and it's on 24/7, and I would say 3 days is about it for that one, before the scent is gone. I love the warmers, because we have 2 cats, and while we try to keep them off tables, they just wait until we aren't looking lol. I wouldn't want them to get burned on a lit candle or start a fire, but with the warmers there's no risk. The worst they could do is knock it over and make a mess. I was always afraid of leaving a candle lit and accidentally leaving, and it happened once or twice, but again, no risk with warmers (basically the same as leaving a small lamp on) I don't even think about it anymore.

I will try them - but

I've found the best way to keep cats off areas you don't want them (for me it was kitchen counters, in the area where the TV is if they climb on the tv stand or something -

It's a device that I bought of Amazon a LONG time ago and it works GREAT! It's a small box you can put anywhere and it has 2 settings, low/hi (sensitivity) I put mine on part of the kitchen counter, and it makes a loud sound, cat jumps down. Cat then tries another part of kitchen counter, so place it there, it sounds, cat jumps down. Cat will think, OK, I don't like this so I'm not bothering getting up there again...It took about 2 or 3 times of this and that was it...Next was the coffee table, and TV area, same, 2 attempts, then not bothering anymore. This has been my experience with two cats...It looks like on the reviews some don't seem to like it...

I just got both

Scentsy and Yankee Candle scents. Both are good, but I do believe Scentsy is a little better. Both are MILES ahead of this pumpkin spice that came with my warmer. The Scentsy are easier to deal with as well - the break apart but don't crumble. I may have opened a can of worms buying scentsy though because I've already received 2 letters wanting me to sell their stuff (LOL)
