So don't call me out on something. I'll email the pics to Fred when i get them...not post them on the fourm. Fred seems to be the only one interested. So if he wants to share the pics AFTER i email them to him he may do so but otherwise...not on the fourm. By the way i don't diss or talk secret <br

Mark

Is Kyle asking for my phone number or the number I am willing to pay? Hmmmm <br
Now Kyle - your first lesson in negotiating a deal. Do not appear too anxious.

OH PUHLEASE!!!

I'm gonna agree with Fred N on this, the Compact is worth whatever someone is willing to pay.
I'm also scratching my head at the NIB floor washer that went for $70(something that is very rare IMHO) and at the dime a dozen plastique Convertibles that are going for big $$$!!!
Hello logic?? where are you??

Kyle, what are you trying to do?
Not trying to sound like a jerk here but I have several twin-fan uprights and a couple of Duo-powers.
I'm not interested in a Compact.
I'm not interested in selling either.
Let me suggest you consider selling some plastic Convertibles, from what they are doing on ebay these days, you could probably finance your college education!

Tomorrow. Tomorrow!

Yeah, sure, Kyle, you'll show the pics tomorrow. What kind of tradesman blames his tools. Yesterday you said tomorrow. Now today you are saying tomorrow - and just Fred, a new twist. I never liked the twist. Mr. Checker was okay, but the twist. Give me a break. That's not dancing. (Unless maybe John and Uma in Pulp Fiction). That bannister is greasy, isn't it?
Fred, Ian insists (I got this subliminally, my ancesters were Brits) that you insist that Kyle post the pics for all of us. Tell him you will avert your eyes and not look at his pics unless he shares.
Gosh, when I was a youngster it was suggested to me that sharing was a good thing. Has all that changed? Tell me it isn't true.
P.S. Ian, Fifth Element doesn't do it for me - but Blade Runner. Yes, I, too, (as a tastefully decorated combat veteran) have seen some things.

C'mon, Jeff

Gee whiz, Jeff, agreeing with Fred N has to be the safest path in the world. Fred is, like, (I was going to say the Pope but then I remembered about that $650 million settlement in L.A.)- Fred is, like, well, he's the man. So, like, are you going to wimp out, too, and say you just have no idea in the world, or any other world, what Kyle's C-4 pig, complete, (pretend that if there were pictures they would look good - like Victoria Beckham), is worth? I mean, totally unable to render an "educated guess"?

OK Kyle

This is public now. Pictures on the site should be forthcoming and we will educate everyone on how a limited market negotiation is done. I am willing. Are you?

Kyle

Just an FYI - I truly want to see you get the best price for this machine and do not want to take an unfair advantage given our age difference and differences in experience. If you post the pictures here, it may start a bidding war which can only work to your advantage as the seller.

Blade Runner

Guys, just give me a sec on that Blade Runner reference then we can get back to the bidding.
Ian, I appreciate Tyrell's genious, but Roy Batty is my identification. Don't sweat it, though, it may just be a mortality thing at my age.
OK guys, I am going to slip out and suck on a Rocky Patel for awhile. I never was a smoker. But since my cardiac event, I like to occassionally stare death in the face and say, "That's it. That's all ya got?" I know, kind of silly. But I think it plays better with a fedora and a cigar.

Oh my.....

Kyle,

1. Just take a few shots of the Compact with all the available pieces please when you are able. And post them as asked for. Take as many shots as necessary to show how good of shape it is. When you've done that the guys can give you a idea of what your Piggy is worth to them.

2. It was said in an earlier post that there are only several hundred of us that collect this type of appliance, and a few "special" instances on e-bay where a non collector will go gaga over what you have cause it's fits into a room decor or something. This happens rarely, but does occur. Or it was like the one mom used to have that was also mentioned. This makes value just so difficult to determine sometimes.

2. If no one in our field of vintage vacuum collecting wants it, put it back in your storage area, and forget about it. Or simply use it occasionally and enjoy it for yourself. Their NOT the most interesting machines, but they are very well made, clean rather well, and do the job as intended. If you don't get what you want for it. It may be wanted later by someone. At that time you can offer it up and see where it goes.

3. Remember that good things come to those who wait. I know you know this, as we've had a conversation about this, and of what I've had over the years and I will be 30 years old July 30th. And I waited MANY years to get some of the things that I have, as well as all the collectors here. Ive had several hundred over the last 30 years... and now have only about 35. They are the ones that I love and wont part with. And that suits me perfect.

4. Some may not wish to part with anything right now in trade. That isn't personal, just an observation that Twin-Fan's and Duo-Powers are out there being sought by other collectors, and
you just have to wait for the right time to either purchase or trade the Compact to get what you want for yourself.. After you can drive ,and can get some haunts around...this will help your collection dramatically. Ask anyone I'm sure they will agree.

4. Greed never gets anyone anywhere. We talked about that earlier also. After you've gotten your fair estimates, decide what seems to be a good price. Then ask for it. That's really all you can do.

5.I have never owned a Compact, and probably will never.I feel therefore I have no business giving you a price estimate. Compacts, as you've found out for yourself, are just not my bag. I remember using one that Jeff P./ hoover1060 had many years ago when he lived in Nebraska. It was a later one with the Eureka head. It was cool..but not something I wanted to run out after. It's all in who's interested, and what they want to pay.

I know that your just trying to get an idea, but unfortunately many people have many different answers for you. I will keep a lookout for what you desire and I'm sure that your other "haunts" you do have will provide also.

And in what you are trying to do, I simply got the feeling that you are offering the Compact in trade for something you want more. People just need to see what you have to offer before they "find" one that you are looking for. And believe, if it is nice, and complete you may have something in trade offered up. If that collector is looking for that particular Compact though.

I am agreeing with

Fred, because he makes sense.

And Mine

A C80. Bought brand new in Palm Springs about 1982. Complete. One of my favorites. A great cleaner. Recent bags and filters make this a very good vacuum!
