Dust Manager

Turbo I am a civil Servant and I Understand but as Trade Unionist but not willing to do the pickets as I live twenty miles away from work and not too good myself. The Dust Manager is really a modern version of my gold old pure power. Have you looked at the new turbo power range I know what you mean by vax. Once a time they made only two machines now a wash with cheap uprights which use expensive car style filters anyway glad I returned the Bissell.

The dust manager is a BAGLESS version of the Purepower. It uses the same, cheap, direct filter design of the Bissell and they are well known for being unreliable, low performing and easily clogging.

I had the second style dust manager. It was absolute rubbish! Noisy lost all airflow and suction after 2 minuets and a dust buster could clean better. The new cyclone type collection system looks promising this time. I have a sebo Felix premium , it is probably the best clean air vacuum cleaner on the Market today.

Wot colour is your Sebo Felix? Mine is the Classic one. It isn't the nicest looking machine but it does an excellent job. It is my favourite over the Dysons I have ever used on my carpets. It outcleans them by a mile but I am usuing the Dyson DC24 as I still have a warranty on it. The Sebo comes out when I want to give the carpets a proper brushing as the brush is very effective and grooms very well.

Mine is White with with the blue filter/bag look alike. I love it alot and especially the price I bought it for.......£10. Don't carboots turn up with the funniest things it evan came with both tools and hardfloor head.
I do think it's one of the best vacs out there. I need to phone sebo though as my x4 brushroll vibrates.

I agree with U there and that is amazing that U got one for that price! I got mine free from a friend who works for them.

With regards to your X4 machine. I asked my friend and he asked if u have checked the machine without the brushroll or with the Felix brush to see if the vibration stops? Im assuming U have but thought id ask anyway :) How long have u had this current brush in the machine? Do u like ur X4 over the Felix Navy or is it vice versa?

Well te fleix is in storage so that might have to wait. I have had my x4 for now and only been used a few times. It's still got it's factory bag in it. I bought it brand new on ebAy but it didn't come with a recipt so I can't register it I don't think :(
I will check it without the brushroll later tonight and report back. My dc24 stinks of carbon dust again so off to dyson again! Dyson have gone downhill give me a dc01 anyway! Vac shop are giving me a dc07 so might recon it and keep it cause honistly they are not bad as a daily vacuum.
Thanks for your help and I would like to know if I can still get it guaranteed Evan though it's not got a receipt.
Jake :)

Keith, I used that Vax Mach Pet not so long back. Although the build quality isn't as good as the Dysons, it certainly performs well. If you're looking for a new machine and want bagless, I'd highly recommend one. At least they have a proper multi cyclone unlike the crappy low efficiency filter cyclones on every other bagless vac under £100. And I wouldn't say it's all that heavy.

Keiththomas,

I am not sure about the other Vax machines but I have used the Mach Air & I really liked the Vax Mach Air over my Dyson DC24. I'd say the performance is on par to the Dyson DC04 I used to use before it burnt out after 7 years use. To be honest I would say the build is about the same as Dyson and it has got very good reviews online. My Dyson DC24 even though I feel is better made than previous generation Dysons, the wand broke after just 1 year and half use. I think it will break in the same area again in the future, but Dyson are excellent in providing spare parts free of charge within the 5 year warranty.

Jakesvacs,

Check to see if its the sensor inside the machine that is vibrating as it may just be that and not the brush roller. When U do the test with removing the brush roller & running the machine, U can find out then. I doubt very much that you will have a warranty with this machine as it wasn't purchased from the shop and you don't have a receipt but I wish you luck there. I'm sorry to hear about the Dyson DC24 issue. I have had my DC24 for 2 years and its had quite heavy use and I have not stuck to cleaning the filter every month as they ask and I have let the bin overfill a few times and never had a problem with carbon dust smell, but had a slight issue with the wand breaking but this part was replaced quickly.

Hoover Vortex

Finally Turbo It appears my machine used the same parts of the Hoover Vortex. But I know little of this machine when it was first produced and when it stopped selling any info

hoover purepower

Wow, very nice. Good condition too, how do you find performance?

Think they did a Dolls house vac simular to that.

now that, I believe, is a first generation Purepower from 1997/98. Does it use the Activator brushroll? Those were pretty good vacuums, stick with it! The newer ones are appallingly bad quality and very average performance, especially in comparison to the earlier models.

Roll

Well I got the new wheels on it. I try to keep my appliances in new condition, cleaning them etc and making sure they work, Like my cars. It uses the traditional activator roll which is like new and not worn, Has red brushes The dust blowing out was casued by cheap bags. You can still get parts for this machine. I like the colour. I need to replace the dusting brush but they are expensive no hurry though. The newer generation I heard also was not so good. Well it is now back to normal use and my standard. I will have to clean the outside and the inner workings well the bag area. I have heard hoover (Candy) is going back to the future as people are now turning back to bags after the poor quality bagless machines have a lot to be desired. The cost of Filters etc has proved you cannot always re-invent the wheel. Dyson was on TV saying he moved production as you cannot get parts supplied by British Manufacturers, what a load of garbage. I now recall his machines just keep going up in price. Thats why I would only buy in a sale and not in full price. Hoover moved their production to China I believe in 2005 and not a good Idea. I see the red machine of this model retails at about 90.00. Many people have returned to this model. Hoover is also going back in time to more sensible traditional machines and they look quite good about time. Thanks guys

rubbish plastic vacs

i have often thought if only Hoover would start knocking out Hoover juniors or seniors again they would clean up [pardon the pun]because basically thats all people want a good relativly cheap vacuum cleaner that dos what its meant to do . As a child in the 60s and 70s it seemed as though everyone had them they were everywhere people loved them todays vacs look just like what they are rubbish all those filters to clog and on board tools who the hell wants on board tools my neighbour recently asked me to look at her VAX upright bagless it only needed a good clean out but i couldent beleive th noise it made they should be sold with ear defenders and what about these power guzzeling motors i have noticed the wattage slowly creeping up over the last fiew years i am so glad to hear people are going back to bagged cleaners i supose thats one step in the right direction sorry i do go on a bit Anthony

That is a shame you didn't get the Turbopower, as they are very good.

I own a 1994 HOOVER TURBOPOWER 1000W with autosense and a turbo button.

I got it free from a dump in February 2010 and since then it has been working flawlessly and I simply can't fault it at all.

Anthony and Jim Murray

Interesting I noticed that the new turbo power range is going more traditional doe you remember the Hoover Constellation that was also good also but that was some years now since it stopped production. The pipes are useful well on my machine. I agree the Hoover Junior and senior should be re introduced but with quality not a badged cheap machine like Russell Hobbs Do

I have 2 hoover juniors next year to be three, a hoover senior and a hoover constellation tomorrow. I love the juniors to bits i think they are one of the best hoovers ever made. I was brought up with kirbys but these hoovers seam to do just as good as job.
If kirby sold the junior as kirby junior they would be an evan more popular company than dyson.
