Hoover Turbo Power
I had this machien for two years and the motor run fast and burnt out after two years and woukld cost over 50 pounds, bought a pure power in a sale at 46.00 that has now failed the footpeddle and now looking at throwing that out not made to last

Unfortunately, Keith, Hoover have gone down the pan in recent years following the Candy take over, and former fellow vacuum giant Electrolux weren't far behind. The purepowers have been being produced for 14 years now. The earlier models were pretty good - especially the first Purepower Autosense. Sadly, this didn't last and they're now probably one of the worst vacuums you can get on today's market.
Once upon a time, no matter how much you spent, you would have still got a relatively decent vacuum. Nowadays, that's the not the case and it would appear you have to splash out for a decent vacuum.
If you want a bagless machine, the ONLY option is Dyson. They have a very efficient cyclone which, if you keep on top of the filter maintenance, really doesn't lose suction. If you want bagged, Miele and Sebo make the best vacuums on the market IMO. Numatic also make very good vacuums, but they only make cylinder's so if you're after an upright, they're not an option.

Funny thats what my research says I looked at the Hoover Machines and guess what the pure power on the shop floor were expensive and the foot peedle made an awful noise cheap trash I have a Dyson Cyclinder very good. I have just bought a Bissell Powerforce Baglass at Asda for on 45.00 Pounds. I did like at Dyson Uprights but they cost well over two hundred pounds and sebo. I ll Try this and it it is crap Ill take it back within 28 days. Yes Hoover is I think expensive and poor quality. Electrolux looked the worst design this Bissell appears good but only got it today parts not too expensive It appears. I hate the way so many products have become cheap and nasty.

There's a damned good reason why cheap uprights are sold cheap, it's cos their build quality is, you guessed it, cheap, you get what you pay for...
Heck, I paid 99p for my Electrolux C12, battered, bruised, and in need of some work, but with relatively little repair (fan swap, bearing greasing, replace the VGII brushroll tube & lube the sleeve bearings, hardly anything really), it works superbly, but, the cheap plastic turds I've had, no matter how many hours I put into them, they always felt "broken", pretty much cos they're built to fail so you buy another, and another, then another, ad infinitum, gone are the days of quality built products that last a lifetime (and that's a Human's lifetime, not a fruit fly's lifetime!!)...
Regardless of what I did to repair them, even that Vax QuickLite felt like it had something wrong (aside from the cheap pleated filter "bagless" design), but that's gone now so I don't have to bother thinking about it, though interestingly, the brushroll bearings from a Hoover PureFail or similar (Dust spewer, I mean manager?) fit the brushroll of the Vax, so, I saved money there by using the bearings I saved from my PureJunk's brushroll, getting rid of that grinding rumble...

Now look at how much plastic they are using compared to the legend 2.
AND how about dyson improving as they go, i dont think so, still using that clutch on new models?!? Time to learn dyson!
I just won an electrolux 612 on ebay and going to collect it tomorrow, i mean they are all plastic and can outlast most new vacs.

Sorry Keith, but these days, you get what you pay for. I paid 172.00 for my Sebo x1.1 from goelectrical.co.uk and it was worth every penny. It's built like a tank and has the performance to match. The ONLY upright I'd even consider for under 100 is the bagged Panasonic upright, and they're not what they used to be either

Today i got a lux 612 but its got a few things wrong with it. The motor sounds as if its on the way out and i dont know if anyone knows where i can get one?? Would love to get it working 100%

Turbo 500 I think you are right the Dyson Cylinder is good, I looked at Sebo but was looking to go bagless but the Bissell Power Force will do me for now at least. The trouble is there is too many models from each company I know Dyson and Sebo come with a five year warranty. Interestingly Hoover (Candy) Have brought out a new type of machine called yes Turbo Power which is Bagless no loss of suction with a % year Warranty it not cheap recommended price 225.00 (i think not) but at comet at around 130.00 looked at it and it was still made in China with similar pipes etc to Electrolux. I suspect these brands are contracting out the manufacturing to a chinese company.

Keith, Hoover-Candy and Vax have been made in China by TTI for years. The Vax Mach machines are all badged Hoover in the US. It's nothing new. Numatic are the only British made brand left. Dyson are made in Malaysia, Sebo and Miele in Germany and the AEG cylinders are made in Sweden. Incidentally, my mum had a Samsung Jet Propel upright that was the same design as your Bissell - 18 months later, it went to the tip.

My brother has (or had, cos he'll have trashed it by now) one of them Samsung bagless vacs that look like the Bissel power farce, muggins here had to clean it out and repair it earlier this year, horrible quality vacuum, and all the different "stages" of filtration that needed pulling out to clean them out of the debris that leaked through, all the way to the post-motor filter, horrid thing, had to stand it at the back door with the exhaust aimed outside to blow the dust out, don't think that motor would have lasted any longer...
And that's what I hate about a lot of modern vacs made in far eastern countries, they're just not worth the hassle of even looking at, never mind considering repair, I'd rather just put them through a shredder, brand new in the box, they're just worthless piles of junk in my opinion...

Well I am taking it back after a few days to get a refund my Hoover still works better and found someone who can get the peddle fixed. Thie Bissell is nasty awful used the piper yesterday nearly cut my hand so sod it it is going back, I am sticking with my Dyson and my Hoover

Don't forget to give them the reason "Not Fit For Purpose", they'll try to argue otherwise, but the customer is always right...

Thank you Tubo 500 and twocycle blok, Today I used the dispute day to sort out the vacuum cleaners. I got the Hoover Pure Power repaired at last with two new rear wheels so like new. I dismantled the Bissell Powerforce, I was dreadful misleading design and after only three uses in 4 days was difficult to clean. I then realised it is only designed to last 12 months and the filters are really like car filters. Expensive to replace and last about three months. The pipe was the cheapest design I have ever seen. Anyway boxed it up and took it back to ASDA got a refund and collected my Machine and that is that. The man said the Hoover looked like new and I had obviously replaced the filters and changed the bags often. No chips or body damage. Yes Sebo are probably the only alternative and Miele some Dysons and some Hoover Dust Manager Pure Power. Trouble is their design of Foot Peedles other wise a good machine is looked after but they cost about 90.00 to 225.00 which is far to expensive. The Dyson Uprights I was advised some parts are difficult to obtain as their machines are now contracted out to various factories in the far east. Too many machines are a plastic nightmare

I was very impressed with this machine and much prefered it over a Dyson machine but I already have my DC24 machine and got it before I even looked at at Vax. I dont like the look of the rest of the Vax machines, just the Mach Air ones. Excellent performance, not noisy and well built. I just wished I had got it back after the relationship ended LOL
I like Sebo's for their performance and noise levels. I have a Sebo Felix and it does an excellent job at grooming the carpets with its efficient brush roller. Much better then any Dyson I have had and Ive had DC03, 04 and 24 as uprights and DC05 cylinders. Not enough people know about Sebo's in my opinion.

Who told you that dyson 's machines are contracted out to various factory's . dyson manufactures there vacuums in maylasia in there own facotry.
parts for these machines are one of the easiest and cheapest to get , I mean you can still get parts from Dyson for a dc01 that was made in the early 90's , try going to Electrolux and asking them for parts for a 90's Electrolux , they will just laugh.UK Electrolux not USA Electrolux

Still get parts for dysons
Well in the uk dyson have stopped production of dc01 and dc02 parts and won't sell them anymore. Where as electrolux sell bags and filters for their 600 series.
Lucky enough online parts websites still sell everything you need!

yes I see that sucks , wonder why? I know that the patents on the dual cyclone are now up for grabs , maybee it has something to do with that.i don't care much for the dc02 .

Keith, I'd steer well clear of the Dust Manager's. They manage dust about as well as a desk fan would. The cyclone design on those is more horrid than on the Bissell. Nasty clogging mess. I presume by the fact that you mentioned using your strike day to go and sort out your vacuum that you're Civil Service? Which department are you? I really should've gone on strike today but couldn't afford to lose a day's salary

I had a Felix Vogue for a while but have now gone back to an x1.1 - the red euronics exclusive. Best upright on the market!
