Mmm Pot calling Kettle black there, Jamie..one only needs to look at your previous threads going on and on about your Hoover Senior Ranger.
Chris has summoned up the nature of this thread as eloquently and as neutral as any other member on this thread can. It isn't the fault of Citroenbx to form the opinion he has expressed.
Latterly too, we see examples on here of cherished vacuums by collectors who probably have vacuums that are older than the Turbomaster, but there is a distinct difference both by collector's vacuums and those owned by the average family who just see the vacuum cleaner AS a domestic appliance.
Of course one can argue easily that a vacuum cleaner's longevity depends very much on the existing parts it uses compared to the parts that might have had to be replaced over a period of time to keep it going - can one agree then that the Turbomaster has really lasted that long? Or has it stayed with ONE family where it gives performance year after year surviving on its original parts.
Same with my parents X1 - it is 15 years old this year and has been kept in the family, passed from member to member before it was returned to me last year. The SEBO has only required one drive belt in its life time. Thus, do I feel that the SEBO X series has lasted for 10 years or the original 13 years when it was with my family and required that one replacement to keep it going? Of course not because it has only required ONE major repair in all those years of ownership.
