lol at Joe, but I think citroenbx might have Asperger syndrome, which is maybe why he is obsessed with his DC01's. It would be nice to know his real name, and his profile is so "anonymous" making him a bit of a mystery.

citroenbx might have Asperger syndrome

that doesn't mean he has to post pictures of his early dyson's  all the time, it also doesn't mean he has to use awful spelling and grammar, my opinion on the Turbomaster lasting 20 years is not a feeling of surprise, the older Hoover models were very durable and excellent deep cleaners. I am surprised at that panasonic only lasting 3 years, I always thought they lasted longer than this.

Whether Citroenbx uses bad grammar etc maybe due to him having learning difficulties (Aspergers, Dyslexia, autism etc) or he may be very young. Without knowing how old he is, its hard to judge much about him - Citroenbx could even be a girl. I do think that people should fill in their profiles properly though so we know who we are talking with and how old they are. It would also lead to less critical postings of members.

Perhaps the webmaster could ask that members fill their profiles in and disclose age in order to be able to post on VL?

Why are you all picking on citroenbx?

He/she just happens to like the Dyson DC01, and just happens to have a different grammatical style.

Many people aren't comfortable with displaying their name, city, age, and other personal info. I do think a first name should be required, but not location, age, last name, etc.

I don't think anybody is meaning to pick on someone for having learning difficulties. As long as what the writer is trying to say comes across clearly enough and they've clearly tried to make sure that what they are saying makes sense, then there shouldn't be a problem. I had to ask citroenbx to rephrase what he'd said in another thread as it didn't make much sense to me, which he did and it was all fine.

I think the issue here is that this thread as no point and it's quite difficult to understand from the original post what citroenbx is hoping to gain or what info he is trying to provide. As it turned out, citroenbx is asking what we think of a Turbomaster lasting 20 years, which isn't the sort of thing one can really say a lot about and wouldn't prompt much of a discussion.

As for the personal details on your profile, maybe if we knew more about this member, we'd be able to understand where he's coming from with his posts a little better, which would make it less frustrating for citroenbx as he wouldn't need to try and rephrase or explain things again and, of course, easier for us to know what it is he's trying to get across.

It's not secret that we have members on here with learning difficulties and/or autism spectrum disorders, but we know those members and we're all a little bit more understand towards those people. Not that those members should be treated any differently to anybody else, just that people are generally more patient with them. [this post was last edited: 11/12/2013-07:26]

"Why are you all picking on citroenbx?

He/she just happens to like the Dyson DC01, and just happens to have a different grammatical style." I'm sorry, but there are only two kinds of grammatical style: CORRECT and ERRONEOUS. His/her's is the latter.
