Hoover Junior

Hey Guys-
Here is my absolute favourite junior. I have decided to start unpacking of my machines in storage.

Some of the accessories a bit dusty, however please persevere.

I have no idea what model it is, and only have the info plate stating details as in the photo above.

It Is not the metal casing and the bag is not original. I have the original Swedish green bag however it has seen beter days-for the rest they are concourse.

Thanks for your reply, yes it looks like a 1334, however the plastic motor housing/hood was introduced in models post the 1334, which was identical accept for the metal hood.

I could be wrong and stand under correction,

I absolutely love the photo in your link. wow great little machine. here in South-Africa they are extremely hard to come by and once you find one, it has seen the inside of the mill.

Having a bot of a problem with uploading the pic of the information plate, hopefully it will appear.

The colours Swedish green and Pine places me in the mid to late 1960's and looking at hoover brochure posted on this web of UK 1967, it appears to be the machine, however I miss out on the model number.



I love the way this little machine carries itself with pride and has came a long way.

I have one of those too

I have 3 Juniors, {here, the brochures called them 'apartment vacuums'}. I have 1 set of tools. It's great that they also take a type "C" bag.
Enjoy... it's a great vacuum cleaner.

After the 1346 came out, some of the 1334 models carried on as exclusives and budget models. The 1334E ran quite late IIRC, so it could be that it's a later style 1334. They still carried the same model number despite being plastic.

Looking at the serial number, I'd say that was made in May 1970.

thanks guys, wow you are really knowledgeable in this area, Yeah the juniors are great with a small alteration with development, this machine has proudly stood it's ground for over 30 years, with reference to the style from model 1334 to the U 1012 etc.

And as much as I love it, I have no idea how to assemble it successfully- hence I send it to an elderly man called Leon who had sold and carried the agency for Hoover and has over 40 years experience, in the ins and outs and does a remarkable job, in repairs, and refurbishing those gems from the past like hoover912, Hoover 612, Hoover 262, Hoover 652 and so forth.

It is a Hoover Junior 1334E and the original bag was grey for this model.I have 2 of this type of hoover in the pine green colourscheme with one that has the original bag .The material of the original bags were prone to wear and was made of very thin material as per the earlier 1334 models as that why you see a lot of the 1334 Hoover Juniors of this period with non genuine replacement bags .The Hoover Junior 1334A in the hop green colour had a thicker different type of cloth bag which lasted a lot longer

Dear Garlee-

I thank you for the model number identification. The model number probably was stuck on in the form of a silver metalux sticker, which came off with time, as there was no other mention made printed or engraved anywhere else. I still have the original bag, however it has been mended and come across very sad, not doing the little machine's cosmetic appearance any justice.

Visiting many textile outlets here, trying to find the ideal thickness and more importantly the colour, hence I was told that the specific colour and texture was an extremely rare commodity.

Thanks for the information, I love learning more, and try to keep a machine to the full original manner in which it was purchased.

Detail like decals, name tags, styles, are all things very important and dear to me.

the good thing about the junior is there like LEGO you can take parts from most of the other models and cobble together a good machine .I have this one with its origional green bag

Thats a very nice machine you have there! I only have one Junior in the collection at the moment U1012. I do have another one in the mail. a picture if you're interested

Wow, clean intact and standing up straight and in pride, your 1334A.

I have had many, and if I say many, I mean many hoover Juniors over the years. Let me admit to something, here on the net.

I can take it apart hence can not fit it back together.

Come 652's come senior rangers, power plus models, turbo power 1, 2 and 3, even Electroluxes 500, 502, 502S, 504, 506 homecraft, 506E, 560E etc., as well as the cylinders/ DO NOT ASK ME TO ASSEMBLE THE MOTOR OF A HOOVER JUNIOR, I plea unconscious, and send it in for the exercise.

I love your 1334A, it is a very neat little machine, as is the U1012 in the above thread.
