Hi everyone. I've been out of the collecting game for awhile, primarily due to lack of room and funds, so forgive me if this topic has been covered already.

Out of curiosity, I checked to see what see what a new Hoover Guardsman would cost. To my surprise, I could not find the bagged version on Hoover's website, and many sites are showing it as out of stock. There are a few on eBay that are selling for nearly $200, which I know is inflated. It looks like Home Depot has some though.

Perhaps I am making too much of this, but, is there any chance the Guardsman is being phased out? I might have to order one if the last of the Convertibles is coming to an end.

Guardsman (convertible style) will Never

Be phased out . I know for a fact through an unmentionable great friend that style will be returning very soon and made in the United States once again all because that wonderful company TTi has purchased the great Oreck company .

MANY Hoovers will now be made in the USA once again 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Dan

I find it funny so many people wanted to bash TTI. Yet here they are doing some great things for Hoover Royal and Oreck. They will be even making some parts here. I had to order a new dirt cup for a bagless Hoover Task Vac and the packaging said made in the US. Pretty much all Royals except for the canisters are mad at the Oreck plant now to.

Exactly Derek

They all bash TTi just like other things while failing to understand the TTi owners are a European family that cares about the companies they purchase . They have always wanted to build vacuums in the US again and Oreck was an opportunity they went after and now many Hoovers Royals along with Oreck will be once again made in the United States .

One day soon they will become the premier American vacuum cleaner manufacturer they are not done purchasing vacuum cleaner company's this is the beginning of vacuum cleaner greatness right here in the USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I own a new Oreck Elevate Conquer that a great friend sent me and it's an amazing Oreck cleans really well . Built to awesome standards and looks very futuristic Oreck finally looks brand new as a vacuum that belongs in 2016 and beyond .

"euoropean" owner's"

means mostly European money. Just like American owners means mostly American money, regardless of country of manufacture.
I.E. AB Electrolux. The Wallenberg family holds the majority of shares to this day.
While Ford does make cars abroad, the Ford family holds 51 percent of the shares.
That money stays here and helps our economy.

One question

Is the Self Propelled model still going to be in production? I heard a rumor a while ago saying that it will be discontinued soon but I can't really comfirm is that's true or not. If it isn't, would that model also be brought back in the USA?

That's great to hear, I think those are nice machines. Also are they still using the same motor as usual or have they went back to the older motors that were on the first windtunnels? I really don't like the sound of the newer motors :P

I didn't say there was a problem.

TTI is a global company, so is Ford, GM, FCA, etc. I bet TTI imports most of it's parts from China. That will not change, nor should it.
Good management is good management and bad is bad. Daimler nearly ruined Chrysler, and Cerberus didn't help it either. Now Fiat has it, and it is profitable again.
Buy what you like, that's free enterprise.
All I can say is my immediate family all lost good jobs from 2001 through 2008, a few twice, and none of us were in manufacturing, and most are master degreed.
Ford suffered more early even before the recession was full on, so they made cuts sooner and did it their own way. By the time it hit GM and the banks, the only choice were bail outs. Every conservative opposed every economic stimulus, but then accepted them for their states. Many of those bad managers are and were also conservatives.

Mike

Nothing has been worse than the past 8 years slowest growth in history now things are and will finally be better . Millions left the job market in fact last jobs numbers only created 9,000 full time jobs and
178 ,000 part time mostly seasonal jobs . Ford is the best American car company PERIOD .

Many new and exciting things will come out of the Hoover Oreck Royal factory right here in the United States of America 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Hoover did go back to previous wind tunnel motor that one was garbage .

I'm glad the Tempo is made here

It's a great value. My Aunt's Tempo has been used heavily for five years and it's still going. The only part that has been replaced is the hose (besides the belt, which is just normal wear). I see plenty of 15+ year old Windtunnels still going too.

Dan, sorry, but

I must disagree. Way too much outsourcing was done prior to 2008. I live in one of the hardest hit areas of the rust belt.
In a way like what super storm Sandy did to the New Jersey shore, and parts of Queens and Long Island.
Now I would think all the new jobs added since 2009, and an average unemployment rate of under 7% is far from no growth, but you have your opinion, and it's different. The current rate is even lower than 7%, but I'm allowing for those out of the job market altogether.
If there was no growth, the FED would not be raising the prime rate at all. It isn't good for the economy to grow at too fast a pace either. 401k's were depleted, and many near seniors had to withdraw early so they could afford to live. They were not rehired. The markets came back this decade, and gains were restored at least.
Most conditions and adjustments can have a double edged sword. Low borrowing rates do not come with high interest earning yields.
Bottom line, when people don't earn, they don't save or spend much. Some over spend also.
The supply and demand have to be in balance.
I know we will not agree on much. I'm one of those loser Libby's after all, but I've never taken a hand out, nor needed one thankfully.

Hopefully our New President Will Bring Vacs Back

Hopefully the new president will convince the larger companies like TTI to make their products here, and here only. Its not easy to get a special belt for something from China. it takes like a month for shipping. I want vacs back in good old America. A good amount of small vac companies were in Chicago, A lot of places in Ohio, and many other places. There mostly gone. Lets hope there brought back. it'd be cool if vacs were made here again.

I see belts, etc.

all over for inexpensive Hoovers, Dirt Devils, and Oreck's. Sharks also.
Most people don't repair a $100 t $200 vacuum. They toss it in the trash after a couple of years and buy another.
