Hoover Guardsman and Conquest Discontinued?

Well that's sad to hear...

...although I'm not surprised. Did this news come from the company or a dealer (if those still exist)? I've been seeing alot of the new TTI and Tacony cordless uprights recently in commercial use. I can't say I've ever seen a commercial Guardsman in the wild however.

Bissell looks like they're keeping the genuine Sanitaires alive. They even have the blue "professional" line back with one of the 5amp models.

You win some you lose some.

I rarely see commercial vacuums in use in places. At one time I did, but the last few years it's cheapo Bissell Powerforces. Cleaning out dirty filters is easier than ordering bags I guess - but what about having to replace neglected machines more often because they aren't meant for commercial use?

Yea me too but probably for another reason since I seen bagged ones too. Its probably because its cheaper to get one of those 40 dollars powerforces then buying something that is commercially approved and go though them when they break since they're so cheap to buy. Tells you about our throw away society.

Also I haven't seen a commercial hoover in a good while. You'll usually find the typical Sanitaire, Windsor, and Oreck in the wild then hoovers. I did see a hushtone in a bookstore once but I haven't seen a guardsman, conquest, or even those junk hushtone bagless "empower" since like mid 2000s. I use to see them alot especially guardsmens but not anymore. To my knowledge atleast.

I'm sad to hear this news. Hoover convertibles are the vacuum that got me interested in vacuums as a hobby. In a way they have been a big part of my life. They will always have a special place in my collection.
