About a year and a half ago, while i was transporting my hoover gaurdsman (u4313) up a flight of stairs, the metal handle bail/bracket snapped. After about a year of watching eBay, i have found NO compatible bails. It is a unique part because of not only the hole for the foot switch, but the rounded handle holder. The only ones available are square with no hole (designed for non-commercial hoover convertibles) Not to mention that they are all the wrong color. So, I bought a non compatible bail and am modifying it. I have dremeled out some of the internal structure and drilled a hole of proper size to accomadate the switch and custom built a back bracket. (as the smaller original sinks right into the larger bail. After doing this I have painted it all black (to match the original). Now I have to wrap the handle and interior of the bracket and form a mold of epoxy to hold the handle, and paint that black as well. I just want my hoover back at this point.
