Earlier today I got a chance to switch out handles from my hoover 28 because the original one was damaged so I had to remove the cord and wiring from the power switch and after putting everything back together, the vacuum didn't turn on so I switched the wires a bit and luckily I took it to the garage and plugged it in and a spark and a pop occurred on the switch and left a little smell too. So I was wondering if the wires need to be fixed or try to look for a replacement switch or something. I'll post a picture in a bit.

Let's see, from pic 4 I'm seeing a bare wire (the white one) that would be inside a metal tube (the handle) that would short circuit to the handle.
