I have a 1949 (?) vintage Hoover canister vacuum for sale for $60. It's in great shape, with the exception of a few scuffs, and it runs very well. (The patchy marks on the vacuum are just dust and a reflection of the camera flash.) It has the original power cord, original hose and it even comes with all but one of the original accessories and display box, although the box requires some repairs. It's a model 501, manufactured in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, but it looks the same as the U.S. Model 50. (I suspect the 501 designation indicates that it's a 50 made in Canada, which was quite typical of manufacturers of the day.) Although I live in Toronto, I may be able to ship it from the U.S. if there's a collector out there who simply 'must' have it. 
I love this vintage vacuum but I've got to start downsizing my collection of antiques before I'm featured on the show Hoarders!
