Fabulous!

Love all of those things I've never seen before! Especially love the closeup of "The Hoover" on the bag <br
I need to go get my scanner out.. <br

wow......

THAT'S SUPER COOL.....FRED.. <br
That's something i'm saving to my pictures folder for sure. We all have such wonderful things to share <br
About that 9? series Hoover Commercial... It seems to have a middle 30's 150 model like handgrip, and two sets of cord hooks. Is that a low prod. model? I have seen 91's, 918's and the like, but never one like that.. <br
Im loving this... <br

I'll be happy to e-mail him the full-size, high resolution scans for use on his website <br

Oh wow, guys! :D

You've been holdin' out on me! : <br
Tom and Fred, thank you both so much - those pictures/scans are amazing! I've spent so long trawling the internet and vacuumland achives for info on those machines! I'm just over the moon! I didn't quite wet myself, but it could have been a close call, lo <br
How many of those machines do the Historical Center have examples of, I wonder <br
One question - out of the cleaners on Fred's scans, where is the Model 3, the first commercial <br
Chad - the only other Hoover I've seen with double cord hooks is my 1933 commercial Model 925 (below) - I guess they must have been optional, for people who wanted extra long cords. I have a 912 like the one in Charles Richard's picture, but only has 1 set of cord hooks

Some more early adverts!

From 1910, looks like a Senior Model 2 (this is wonderful, I know what they are now :D <br
How I wish I could still send for 'That Little Hoover Book'!

When was the last time a pre-102 Hoover went on eBay? I tell you...for all of my 6 years of vacuum collecting, I have never seen more than one on eBay! Those ads, though, are amazing! Thanks for taking the time to scan them, everyone <br
~~K~~

Well Jack,
They have a Spangler, and of course a model O, and a two right after that..

The double-hook 918 is from the HMS Queen Mary. The ship is permanently berthed in the Long Beach Harbor and there are tours of the ship which was renovated into a museum <br
Part of the tour includes a display of artifacts saved from the ship, and the Hoover is among them. It stands behind a plexiglass panel so it was really hard to get good photos of it. Note the European-style plug - which would seem to lend authenticity to it <br

Titanic...

Alan, I've wondered about that too; I imagine they would either be early Hoover uprights, or some sort of central-vac system. I'm sure they would have been appointed with what ever was considered to be 'the best of the best'! There must be websites or message boards for people interested in those ships - perhaps someone there would know, or have access to such records.
