Hey CR.....

Charles... <br
You wouldn't be getting those scans from the Hoover book I was talking about earlier on in the post would you??? It was printed around 1987 or so... had a whole bunch of pics of cleaners in it <br
IF you wondering what I'm babbling about...the scans that I am mentioning are the starting two pic/scans of post 42566 <br
That was another one that was damaged by fire when i was away. I almost am SURE that is the pages I remember. <br
If Im wrong please tell me... <br <br
God I hate fire.. <br <br

Hi Chad, no, the scans came from other sources - instruction booklets, some old Hoover literature I have, etc <br
Here are a few more- <br <br

Thanks for looking...

Charles <br
Thanks for the reply. I know i'm not crazy and had a booklet about 12 inches wide by 13 or 14 inches long, containg the entire history of Hoover up until maybe 1987. I remember that they also sent me the full line brachure at that time, as well as all the Commercial models too <br
I guess I'm having an "oldtymers" moment or something. Those scans seemed awful familiar. The other scans are beautiful <br

Charles Richard,

thanks for all of these scans, they're very interesting <br
Have you noticed that on the 105(?) manual cover, the cleaner appears to be running, even though it's not plugged in?

Well, I'm a bit late getting here, but I needed to take some new pictures before I could jump in. Here are my 1920 Hoover cleaners <br
From left to right
Hoover Special 102 - Original Condition Except 541 Bag and newer cor
Hoover Special 102 - Very early serial number (186,566) but has many upgrades including rubber bumper (or whats left of one), new bag mount for taller bags, fan with disk, Robbins Myers rating plate removed, switch replaced, and perhaps some mods to the bottom for a detachable baseplate. The cord has also been replaced if you didn't notice. The bag is 40'sish, right
Hoover Baby 103 - Original except for cord

That's no smudge!

That's the screw-in plug, I swear! You can follow the cord up past the woman's dress and over the upper cord hook <br
That cleaner is running on ectoplasm or something!

Thy couldn't have possibly had photoshop...

Skills. Is what they had to make that bag look full when not plugged in. <br
I know that advertising has had a way of embellishing things since the beginning, and an inflated bag on a Hoover then or now surely outweighs a bag that's deflated. <br
Excellent stuff guys... <br
Chad
