Hey guys, a couple days ago I ended up replacing the dead Italian Motor that was in My Gaia 8000 steam Vacuum surprisingly it went smoothly although I did have to cut off one of the mounting Triangles from The Motor, the original Motor had also the same triangle cut off, probably as it uses the physical case as the third mounting leg

The replacement Motor is a Ametek Shanghai 240 V Fully metal two-stage tangential discharge Motor

On a related note has anybody had decent luck with Shanghai Ametek motors? And I’m just hoping the hundred watts isn’t the difference in between a working Vacuum and one with a burnt out speed control

Nice

Your running a 240 v motor that probably has a cap a little over 3000 watts on a breaker. I'm pretty sure you have nothing to worry about

Thank you, tomorrow I’m actually gonna be using it

To clean windows and the top of the Rangehood, and earlier today I actually took it apart just to make sure that the Vacuum motor And the connection between the Vacuum motor inlet and the outlet of the collection tank connected properly, and now that they are, I have great suction. The only issue is at the moment, I don’t have some sort of attachment for doing the hard floors, as I think I lost that years ago or when I received it for free it didn’t come with it, I might even try shampooing a small mat and see what comes out, and probably even the back of mum’s car
