WHAT????? Well, I was wrong.......

That mean I have to give back my prize?

Great job Alan! You sure can't beat the price!

Ok, so what you have there Alan is a 1951 Model 350 which sold for $119.50 in 1951. The telltale feature is the lettered Filter Queen band around the motor housing and none on the bucket. That bucket is metal, yes? Even your cord looks original as the mid-brown color is just right. Lucky find and the handle is intact as well.

The hose couplers (and possibly the yellowish hose itself) and lower J-wand section is from a Salmon pink model 31 a few years later. They look good!

Filter Queen tools and the various caster bases are interchangeable on all models.

Thanks for all the pictures and information Dave! I figured the hose was from a newer model, there was a dust brush from a newer one that I left in the store, and some floor brush bottoms that looked out of place, I'll try to grab them on Monday. There were Electrolux tools included that I left that I didn't need too. And the bucket is metal. The attendant said it sucks like crazy, unfortunately I haven't tried it yet myself.

Congrats on this Diamond in the Rough.

If the Mustard Seed has that many loose parts lying around it's possible there's a caster base in there somewhere...a mobile FQ is a much used FQ. The airflow and sucktive force of this FQ will amaze you. You'll find the dusting brush useful too if it has a decent bristlehead on it.

Filter Queen

Here's a Mdl #31 I'm waiting 2 arrive at my door, should be on its way any day now. Its my 4th FQ in my collection; I have a brown 31, K31X & Majestic LE; the LE I bought from my sis new--made her $2200 richer & myself $2200 poorer

Congrats On The Filter Queen, Alan!

You can't beat the price! And as Dave said, I believe you will enjoy using it. I also have a model 350, and they are powerful yet quiet, especially if it has the original batting in the top. The foam they sell these days as a replacement doesn't muffle nearly as well as the original batting did, in my opinion. Looks like you'll have your work cut out for you to make it look pretty though. Good luck,
Jeff

Excellent Find

Some of the best finds are in places you least expect. When I saw what you got and for how much you coulda knocked me over with a feather lol. Congratulations.
