Thank you for the dedication posts.

My unit is a 1784B, it is newer than yours due to the Eureka logo. I do not know the model year of my machine though. The attachments on mine are genuine originals for the unit with exception of the crevice tool. I think the crevice tool I have on there is a Eureka but not for this machine. I am happy that it fits in the caddy though.

The 1784B has is 11.5 Amps, 4.0 Peak Horsepower. VGII brush roll. It's a great machine. Here's a good picture of the tools.

I noticed your bare floor brush is missing a connection stem, is that a separate piece? It looks brand new so I'm confused!!

eurekaprince...

that's for sharing the link to the more basic eureka model 1261. that is the same one that i have seen on ebay. i was trying to make a deal with the seller for some of the "extra" attachments he had before i bought my eureka attachments. but he wouldn't sell them to me separately.

thank you againf or sharing the link for the youtube video. it was cool to see it in action :o)

thanks for sharing them more detailed great pictures of your mean green eureka machine!!! very nice. your eureka is 2 amps stronger than mine. and i don't know what peak horsepower mine is??

as for my "bare floor brush" attachment, it is made like this and it has a "boomerange" shaped metal wand connection that connects to it and the other metal wand. so i have 2 metal tube wands and a boomerang shaped metal tube wand (that connects to the bare floor brush and then the straight metal tube wand.

here is a picture to show you what i'm talking about....

i notice that your power nozzle has a little window on one side that says "power view". what is that and what is the point of that??? please explain it to me...

my power nozzle doesn't have that window in it??

thank you....

The power view window allows you to see the belt turning. I guess it's a way to tell if belt slows down or doesn't turn at all!! The belts have writing and/or dots all over them so you can easily see whether or not the brush is actually turning.

Thank you for the comments. It certainly is a "Mean Green Machine" very power agitation and airflow. My guess is that your brush roll is the same as mine or do you have a VGI? You have a wonderful machine yourself too!! I've always liked the headlight style on the one that you have Cristina. Someday I will probably find myself a power head similar to yours, I'd like to find a burgundy Canned ham some day and it has the same style as yours!!

Thanks for posting all of your photos!! We love photos on this forum!

If I remember correctly, Eureka provided a second set of plain wands with the deluxe Power Teams so that the user would not have to disassemble the power nozzle wiring and wands in order to attach the bare floor brush. The user was meant to keep the two extra wands and curved wand assembled in the corner of the closet so that he or she could easily switch over to bare floor cleaning by just disconnecting the hose and unplugging the wire from the power nozzle wand assembly.

The "neckless" bare floor brush was a leftover design from the earlier non-power-nozzle versions of the vac. The first generation of Eureka Power Teams were basically copies of the earlier straight suction Sweet Sixteen and Empress II vacs modified to take the new Roto Matic power nozzles. Throughout the 1960's, canister vacs made by Eureka Williams featured neckless carpet nozzles and bare floor brushes that connected to the straight wands with a single curved wand. The concept allowed the user to easily switch between various floor and carpet tools by simply turning the tool on the wand 180 degrees to pull it off. Consumer Reports never liked the design concept because the tools could easily swing around and fall off as you moved from cleaning task to cleaning task!!!! :-). But the concept also allowed for a very neat way to store the tools on large "nipples" on Eureka's "Tool Paks".

So that Eureka Tool Pak on Christina's Power Team is a left-over design from the earlier straight suction version of the vac. Eureka soon realized that the neckless bare floor brush was inconvenient since it was the only attachment requiring a separate curved wand. So the newer versions of the Power Teams sported a return to Eureka tool design from the 1959's: a bare floor brush with an integrated swivel neck. Of course, this forced a redesign of the Tool Pak which is what you see on Rob's Mean Green Machine....

The first Eureka Roto-Matic power nozzles did not feature Vibra-Groomer brush rolls - they came with the more basic Disturbulator brush rolls found on all of Eureka's 1400 Series economy uprights: a gold-coloured wooden brush roll with one set of red plastic beater bars and one row if black bristles.

Hope this clears up the picture somewhat guys!!!!

That's Awesome

Thank you for the insight Brian!! Interesting things to know. I have seen that curved neck design on a bare floor brush, but I had no idea at the time that it was designed to be disassembled!! Neat facts. Thanks

eurekaprince described exactly what my brush roll looks like. it does not look like your's with the slotted/divided/sectioned metal beater bar. mine has a solid plastic beater bar. here is a picture.
p.s.
sorry for the dirty hairy beater bar, but as you can see, i do use my eureka to vacuum our area rugs with.
hm hm hm.....

eurekaprince...

thank you so much for your GREAT wealth of information, on the eureka canister vacuums. you know everything, right on point!!! and you are right! i actually do have the separate wands with the shorter curved one, all together standing in the corner of the closet, where i keep my eureka, for exactly what you said, to have ready so when i need to use the bare floor attachments, i can easily disconnect the power plug from the power nozzle & just connect the the regular metal wands & choose which attachment (bare floor, upholstery brush, duster brush, or crevice tool) i want to use next.

your messages are very informative & interesting to read. thank you so much for your replies!!!
