Thanks for the replies Steve (#12), John (#13), Jimmy (#14), and Christopher (#15).
Congrats on your purchase Steve and thanks for the compliment! I always like comparisons and timelines of products. Too bad Aerus doesn't have them on their product history chart.
Thanks for the info. John. I saw a pic of a Sidekick in Eureka packaging on another thread. Electrolux must have shared the profits with the other companies; otherwise I don't think think it could have used their names. Not a bad deal--Electrolux sells more of its product than it would have just by selling to Electrolux customers, and the other companies get a free test-run while they manufacture their own designs.
Jimmy, I appreciate your information about the boxes and the uprights' adaptors. What is a disc version? I'm not that familiar with the uprights. I'd like to see pics of the other brands' Sidekick packaging if you can do so.
Does anyone know which Sidekicks were sold with which machines originally? That's always nice to know from a collecting perspective.
Also, would one of the Sidekicks work with a '70s cleaner or before--if they didn't have electric hoses?
