Has anyone here seen an electrolux G in a dark blueish gray color? I saw one today on display in a vacuum shop.....didn't ask if he would sell it but it was about the most beautiful color I've ever seen on a vacuum. It was almost a navy blue but had a gray tint to it. I'll have to go back and see if he would be willing to sell the vacuum to me.

That May Be a rebuild

Electrolux used to rebuild their machines and paint them in the colors of the machines being manufactured at the time. I have seen the bluish Gs which may have been rebuilt in 1205 or other colors. If it is rebuilt by Electrolux, it will have a metal tag on the side indicating such.

My grandfather bought a rebuilt model G from the Electrolux man in 1981. It was painted hammertone brown of the Olympia reign. I have seen the bluish-gray machines too, and I wonder if it corresponds with the Ultralux. Charles, did Electrolux rebuild the G's until the early 90's?

Electrolux rebuilt not only Gs but also Ls, AEs and Fs at least as late as the Silverado. I have a beeeeeeee-yoooooooo-teeeeeee-ful Silverado Gray Model G that was a gift from Charlie Watrous and Fred Nelson. I've seen factory-rebuilt Gs in hammertone blue, 1205 metallic blue, hammertone brown and metallic brown.

They also were offering "reconditioned" Model XXXs up through the late 1980s, outfitted with cheap white bojack attachments! I have a little fold-out XXX instruction pamphlet that's official Electrolux literature.

And last but not least, the optional electric hose and PN-5. I love the Silverado colors with matching PN-5 on these classic style machines....

That's what these tired old eyes like to see.

Fantastic scanning, Logan. Really appreciate the high rez large images, suitable for printing. That's why I post all my pictures at 1000 x 750...so I can see 'em within the Forum frame without squinting. 20" monitor is set at 1280 x 1024. :-)
