Well you learnt something about your Dolphin tonight :) It would have had a tool tray. It's probably been lost, I mean getting the tools in and out was such a performance, it was easier to leave the tray in the cleaning cupboard and take it round the house as you were cleaning.

One thing which the Dolphin did have which the Lite didn't, was the facility to attached the suction hose to the blow end of the cleaner. However there were not that many cleaners which did this by 1988 and I don't think that many customers wanted it particulalry.

Hi

Hi I have 3 Electrolux Dolphins. One is the same TOL model as the one above.
I've checked mine and mine has the tool tray and attachments still in it. Also one of the other Dolphins has the attachments in a compartment on the top.

I've took pics of both and will post them later when I get home.

I also have two lites I think and one Chic (Dark Green) which was a later version of the Lite from the mid 90s.
I also think I have brochures on the Dolphin/lite as well as the later chic etc.
I have a White Elite as well which was the TOL but still need the Red one which was the same as the white but did not have the variable power.I had one years ago but it broke and have not been able to replace it since.

James. Great photos. If I may correct you on one think, I am not disputing that your exact Lite cleaner there is from 1992 if you have something to indicate this, but that range was launched in mid 1991 to replace the original three Lite cleaners. By todays standards, the quality of the Lite was excellent.

Now that is interesting! The 1610 Microlite must have just gone on sale, and it never had that floor tool either. The wattage of that cleaner went from 800 to 1000 and even 1100 over the next few years. Interesting to see the 3rd generation Lite cleaner (the one in pink) which formed the basic design for the Chic and Classic in the years that followed.

I remember seeing an Electrolux Dolphin around 1990-ish, that was salmon-pink. It might have been a Currys exclusive.

I didn't like the Electrolux cylinders, because the plastic they used seemed to smell of mothballs.
