Hi Guys!

Can anyone tell me why this Diamond Edition's bag compartment door seems to have too much space between the body? It also feels like there is a slight bit of resistance when you close it, yet nothing appears to be out of line. There are no major dents that could be causing this and the motor just purrs! Also, there appears to be no loss of suction either. So what gives?

Here's a pic:

There is...

Hey Kenny!

Thanks for responding!

There is one screw missing on the door side but the other one is slightly loose. Could that minor thing be making all the difference?

Is this

So, is this a common issue with this model? Both of you who have commented said you both have had this problem.

Do you either of you happen to have an extra screw? I am missing one.

I think mine was missing one of those screws when I got it as well. But I found one to fit from my dad's massive screw collection that I inherited. He would never throw a screw, nut, washer or wire nut away that he thought he might be able to use somewhere down the line.

Regarding replacing the screw...

So, can you guys tell me how do you replace the screw that attaches the cover to the body? You can't access it directly unless you were to use an offset screw driver like the "SkewDriver". Is this correct?

Hey Charlie!

How the hell are you?

I never thought of that! I will do as you suggested. But, first I need to get a genuine screw. Do you have one by chance?

The gap is common to Diamond J's. I've never really tried to repair it....if it's even possible. As long as nothing is broken or out of alignment and it has all its screws, I wouldn't give it a thought.
