"-B-7 and B-8 brushes - are interchangable"

Yes & no.The B-8 brush (plastic center) can fit B-8 or 7.The B-7 brush (metal center) can only fit B-7.

I am also wondering if the brushes for models B-9, B-10, 1522, 1739, S105A, S105B, S105G, S105J, S105L, S105N, and S165A are all compatible.

See the next two photos. They seem very similar, so I'm wondering if the brush center was changed after the DJ/Model 1522 Floor Pro (meaning that the B-8s, B-9s, B-10s, and 1522s had interchangeable brushes; maybe even the 1739s)?

B-8 brushes:

Electrolux brushes,pads

Soft or scrubbing pads usually interchange but the B-6 was smaller with separate locking clip.
Reply 85 is B-8 shampoo brush with the notches on edge turning against the brush on suds shield to create foam.
Reply 86 is B-8 brush for hard floors(should never be used with suds shield)pictured with later(wrong)box.
Neither is the last version for B-8 as that would have been solid color plastic and not the material that resembles particleboard(but durable).
The B-9 and later brushes, that release when turned, would have the raised portion in center and DO NOT interchange with B-8 even though they can be forced to fit.

The S165B was the predecessor to the current Lux Floor Pro model, the S165F (colors black & white). I located this photo from the Aerus LLC website (sorry it's so small). Interestingly, the Aerus air element logo that is typically orange is silver on this machine.

Re: Reply #8

The B-9 was introduced during the Silverado's run--either in 1983 or 1984. If you look carefully at the B-9 pamphlet on the initial post of this thread you will note that it is two-toned gray similar to the Silverado, and the matching Rug Washer, Model 1453, and Model CB2000; also the shampoo solution tank has a "Floor Beautifier" decal on it.

Conversely, the DJ's shampooer/polisher matched its sand and jade colors (along with the same-colored Rug Washer, Model 1453, Hi-Tech 2100, L-E, Model CB2000, Discovery II, and Discovery Advantage) and bore a "Diamond Jubilee" decal on its shampoo solution tank. Furthermore, the model designation became 1522 which corresponded with the 1521 model designation of the DJ (see replies 1, 2, and 3). I do not think there was a sand/jade-colored B-9, so correct me if I'm mistaken.

Interestingly, the model briefly reverted back to using the "B" designation (presumably for "Beautifier") as a B-10 when the 1521/Marquise debuted, but was later redesignated as a Model 1522--both were sand and taupe. When the 1521/Grand Marquise made its appearance the machine retained its 1522 model designation but was renamed "Floor Pro". Later, when the Epic series of cleaners were being marketed the name became "Epic Floor Pro" with model designations 1732, 1739, S105A, S105B (in two colors--corresponding to the C104H/Renaissance and later C133A/Epic 8000 colors), and S105G (the 75th anniversary edition). The S105J and S105L were named "Floor Pro Encore" to correspond with the C134C/Guardian Encore. Since that time the machines have been named "Lux Floor Pro" with model designations S105N, S165A, S165B, and S165F (the S165s do not have cord winders).

The Model 2101s and 2101As composed the plastic line which came from Canada in 1984 and corresponded to the colors of the plastic-bodied vacuum cleaners in sand/jade, sand/taupe, light sand/navy, light sand/light blue (Regency Series), sand/wine (Special Edition series). They seem to have been discontinued when the Epic series machines were introduced in 1992.

Question: Was there a Model 2101A (or another model) Advantage Series Shampooer/Polisher? It would fit the pattern of the Regency Series and Special Edition series.

B-6 (Swedish Import), etc.

Re: Reply #95

The plastic-housing Model 2101 and Model 2101A were prolly manufactured in Canada and assembled in the US like the early plastic-bodied vacuum cleaners (e. g. Hi-Tech 2100, L-E, Special Edition, Regency Series). So I'm thinking that there was no Advantage Series triple-brush machine, because the Advantage Series was sold after the Canadian factories closed circa 1990. Also - I have only ever seen jade and taupe versions of the Model 2101A--never a blue that would have followed (according to the corresponding colors of the succeeding Model 1521).

The Model 2101 and 2101A were a Canadian design that began with the Model B20 circa 1966 (I don't have any Canadian owner's manuals to confirm, but another thread gave the information). So, I'm thinking that when the Canadian plants closed circa 1990 their triple-brush machines were discontinued, because the US had its Floor Pros. The Floor Pros also were plastic-bodied (unlike the Model B-8s) but were designed differently.

I didn't think this thread would be complete without a Model B-6 triple-brush machine that was exported from Sweden to the US in the 1950s before the Model B-7 was introduced in 1959. Notice that the European (and Canadian) models of that time had the opposite brush configuration to the US's--1 brush in front and 2 in back. The color appears to be Pine Green. There was prolly a European canister or two that was available in that same color. Does anyone know which one(s)?
