The B-9 Floor Beautifier in 2-tone gray (presumably 550W/120V as its DJ successor) was only made for about a year to replace the longtime model B-8 Carpet Beautifier-Floor Polisher before being succeeded by the B-10/1522 Diamond Jubilee version (literature stated "B-10", while the ratings plate stated "1522"). I have yet to see any photos of it—including on Doug Smith's website. The later 2-tone gray Epic Floor Pro model S105B is similar but appears to be a darker tone.

AB Electrolux's 250W/220-240V model B9 Floor Polisher in hammertone grey & maroon, designed by Swedish industrial designer Sixten Sason, debuted in 1955 according to my research, and was made until being replaced by the 275W/220-240V model B19 in 1966. There were at least two versions—either an update or another country's besides Sweden or England (photo #5). Both seem to have had telescopic handles. One photo shows the automatic wax dispenser that also came with the previous model B6, but I'm unfamiliar with the brushes.

Post your photos of either make.

Just used the B-9 on Tuesday

I used that exact B-9 Floor Beautifer to shampoo the upstairs carpet on Tuesday evening. It did a great job as always. Guess it will be the last run as we're selling our house and moving to one with only LVT throughout.

Cool—please post some photos, including the ratings plate.

As for the last run, you can still use on the LVT with the scrub brushes & buffing pads.

Thanks for the photos. Ah, you have the second B-9, "Floor Beautifier" in light sand gray & jadestone colors. Its production was between 1985 and 1987. That's great that you even have its factory carton.

In case you aren't aware, the ones made in 1984 had the "Diamond Jubilee" label instead of "Floor Beautifier" as the eBay photos below show.

The gray B-9 featured in the brochure is the one I have yet to see in a separate photo or in person.

There must have been a disconnect between printing and production due to the different model designations that actually continued through the light sand gray & taupe B-10/1522 from 1987 to 1988.
