Ok I knew I had seen at one time something about this being in existence. Last night I saw on ebay a Revelation R-4 with the no wheels indicating it's from the c-4 compact era with PB in the model number and the PB plug in top. So what gives?? We were always taught to believe the PB came out with the C-5. Did these models run side by side for a while and therefore the last of the c-4 or r-4 models also have this plug? Any info would be great.

here's the ebay link......

and my thoughts are this.....i think it is transitional. The C4 started with a raised lid like that (and all other Compacts after that), but then they went to a flat lid, then back to the raised with the very last C4.  Due to that fact im saying that it was one of the last C4 run that was during the mark of the PB and then maybe by the next month they totally stopped that model for the next.

I dont know for sure...but.

I have a C-4 manual dated 1956, which I take to mean for the 57 model year, I also have that cleaner, I have a C-4 manual that shows the later lid and is green as opposed to the first machine being a pink/beige,it is dated 1960, then I have a C-5 book dated 1962, that shows the power brush receptacle, so I wonder????

Oh Yeah...

The Green C-4 with the raised lid says 23rd anniversary, 1960, the flat lid says 20th anniversary model, 1957.

The revelation was always made for vac shop sales, as opposed to compact, for the door to door guys. The C-4 continued to be made under the revelation nameplate, for vac shops until the mid 1960's.
