Thank you for the encouragement. I am pleased with this one and it is my favorite upright. It was great to re-assemble it and put it to work. Sounds so strong and works like a charm. The hardest thing about this was putting a new belt on, it took several days of tugging to stretch it and get it on, then once it was assembled, I was so excited to try it out. I vacuumed away, but wondered why the heck once I turned it off it shot backwards toward me...silly me...in my hurry to play, I had forgotten to put the bottom plate back on.
Tom,
I didn't get to try the tools with it yet. I assembled it late last night. I spent quite some time searching for the bolt to the back of the bag, which I put aside, and I believe I sucked up with another Hoover. Then I took the bag of that Hoover and cut the top off thinking I would search the dust for the bolt, but...YUCK, the thought of me sifting through a packed "A" bag of someone else's dirt just skeeved the heck out of me, so I tossed it and took a bolt of my other Hoover. I am going to try the tools this evening after dinner.
Pete,
Thanks for the tip on the dollar store magic erasers, I will give them a try as I foresee myself going through a lot of these. They are great though, I used them on some scuffs on my wall and it worked like, well, magic. I will always refer to these as Pete's Magic Eraser, since you are the one who told me about them.
Charles - Richard,
Yes it is very satisfying indeed to put it all back together, look at the before pictures, and then to fire it up and enjoy the performance. What fun! Much better than anything comparable today. I would take this over a Dyson any day.
