Thats what I was saying, except its not a Ultra silencer but their knock off version. What you can't see is the switch gear on the top is totally different. They make some good stuff too, but only if the " client" wants it made well.

Well thats just it, one of King Cleans major customers is Electrolux, so how does that work and if they produce the opticlean for Bissell thats another wripoff of an Electrolux design.

The Electrolux T8 canister is a King Clean product. It appears Electrolux has some China built canisters and some Hungary built canisters. It's telling that all their high end models are made in Hungary - could it be better quality comes from Hungary or perhaps the Hungarians have MUCH better "quality control" (something the Chinese lack in droves).

I think that you have to imagine the context and environment in which the Electrolux plant in Hungary operates. This plant must be producing lots of the Elux vacs for Europe and North America. Geographically, they are sitting not too far from some of the highest quality canister vacs in Europe, primarily Germany's Miele, Sebo, Bosch, Siemens and Vorwerk. In that environment, Electrolux needs to keep the quality high to survive. It's possible that the business world in which King Clean is swimming is filled with the Walmart level plastic vacs of Japan, Korea and China..

Yes Tom is right, Electrolux top of the range canisters are made in Hungry, were as lower models are made in China, some by King clean some by other manufacturers, Like best clean and a few others.

If I am not mistaken my Nimble is made in China.

I may take some grilling for this but I personally think that the Electrolux Ultraone is far better made than the Miele S5 and S7.Its plastic is less flexing, It has nice to the touch expensive feeling rubber inserts the hose is of far better quality and so is the floor tool. I certainly see far less in our shop for repair compared with the Miele and Eve Bocsh models. I was very disappointing with the new Vorwerk VK140 It was as well put together as a mid range Eureka upright. It was one of the biggest reasons we dropped the brand.

Samsung Bissell's

Here are too of our samsung bissell's , open the up and they say is bissell everywhere. These were part of the trade in pile in my workshop so excuse they have been standing around. The biggest problem with them is the handle release pedal breaks, The red ones the pre filter was simply a piece of think foam so the motors did not last long on them either.

I don't want to cause any trouble but America seems to have quite an attitude of Chinese made products. I've noticed this on other forums I'm on which have nowt to do with household appliances. I do agree that whilst the country themselves do themselves no favours with their past communist laws and general life, there is more good to China than people actually realise. However no country is perfect where anything is made these days...in my opinion.

If it is cheaper to outsource with other brands, then there's no point unless the said brand actually have a more involved design process. You'd never find Miele for example giving over their design to other brands. Bissell aren't exactly the first name in dry cleaning floor care. They propose that they were the first to make carpet sweepers but they're not upright vacs. In my mind Bissell is more known for its shampooer and wash vacuums, let alone the Chinese brand upright washers.
