Suction only tip
Not sure if you are using an Electrolux suction only nozzle, but if you are and it’s an older version it will have the “gleaner” switch on one end, flip it to on, that should help it to pick up pet hair better. When the 1205 was introduced the gleaner bar was changed to a more mild and permanent design and it can be rotated to a fresh side by unscrewing the end screws, lifting off the ends, pulling out the gleaner rod, and cleaning it and then putting it back in with an unused side facing out. If someone went over concrete with the carpet side of the nozzle and wore that down that could be effecting it’s performance. If you are using an older metal Electrolux carpet nozzle such as the ones standard with the XXX or LX, there should be a flip lever on one end that you can flip to turn on and off the gleaner bar on the opposite side of the nozzle. Earlier all metal nozzles didn’t have this but instead you just flipped the nozzle over to use the side with better gleaning action for thread, pet hair, etc.
The latest Aerus versions for some reason have changed the “gleaner” feature to nothing but a smooth rod, which is in effect the same as the first version in the off position. Not sure why they have done this except for the fact that they figure most people will be using a power nozzle for difficult cleaning and the rug side of the flip straight suction tool for their most delicate needs and figured it’s not needed or desired, though the nozzle suction channel still has “gleaner bar and an arrow pointing to the rod still imprinted on it.
This may help for better results until you get a power nozzle.
