That was..

One of Milwaukee Air Way distributor Don Clarks inventions, but the first one used a Hamilton Beach upright as the power nozzle, this was first introduced in the mid 60s.

Kinda like when members here use their Kirbys as a "powernozzle" with their central vacuums or NSS M1.The Air-Way combo looks pretty neat-guess I could try the same thing-lets see I have both Air way canisters and well-Sanitaire uprights.Could understand why the Air-Way bag would fill quickly.

Don Clark didn't 'invent' anything. Eureka was using this set up in the late 1960's - early 1970's as a power nozzle for their commercial canisters. Don Clark saw one, and asked Air-Way to obtain them and sell them to him exclusively with the 88 Mark II models. Air-Way had already done this with the Hamilton Beach upright, but it didn't pick up very well. The Eureka set up was much better. Once Eureka started making actual power nozzles in 1973, Air-Way built their own too, the RugMasteR. The Eureka upright vac as power nozzle could still be ordered by big distributors, like Don Clark, or the Air-Way built RugMasteR could be ordered instead. Once the cleaner went 'black and white' instead of turquoise or yellow, the Eureka built nozzle went away. There were two colors of the Eureka upright-as-power-nozzle. Yellow or Turquoise.

Eureka upright as power nozzle

All good information but Tom is right that this was Eurekas first PN. If anyone noticed I just sold one on EBay with Eureka label and blue Eureka colors.I have seen a dealer sheet showing it on the type H bag canister.

Hamilton Beach upright from the 60's???

Does anyone have a pic of this as the Airway power nozzle or as a frestanding upright? I vaguely remember an HB upright from the 60's. It was one of those things I had a chance to grab and I didn't do it.
